The only thing that worries me anout this Pavlik fight is Pauls chin at 160.
Im not one to go by what a fighters camp says... but after quintana I... williams came out and said that his camp didnt have him spar any southpaws to prepare for that fight, and it threw him off completely... he thought he would steam roll quintana, and completely prepared wrong.

Now IF... that is true, then i can definitely see how that would throw you off in a fight... I mean IF, thats true... how the hell can you not spar southpaws if your fighting a southpaw? Crazy.

Dirrell? still pretty green, and his defense isnt the best... altho im a huge fan of dirrell.... I could see williams outpointing him... altho it would be at 168... hard to tell, i need to see williams in there w pavlik 1st at 160.

Bernard, u know how i feel about that. The 45 year old Bernard anyway.
dawson-williams are damn near the same fighter, to me anyway.

in about a year or so, dawson-williams at 166-168 will be a war. 2 of my favorite damn fighters....

pwill can compete at 168 lbs against the right opponents.

Dawson is a true LHW... williams was fighting at ww... i think the "power" difference is too great... coupled with dawsons explosive combinations... the only thing that could hold dawson back is the fact that williams prolly throws 3-1 against dawson... although like i said before.. I have to see him against Pavlik at 160 before I can comment on what his work rate would be, and even then that doesnt mean his work rate would be the same at 168...

But he certainly seems to just be the style of fighter that doesnt feel comfortable UNLESS he is throwing punches.

no way!!! dawson doesn't have pwill's stamina.

dawson is a counterpuncher, pwill is a swarmer.

if they fight, its either dawson catches pwill early or pwill outworks dawson. at 166-168 its a tough fight to call.

Something seemed wrong to me in that fight, and I believe he didn't train much other than trying to make weight. I mean Williams wasn't even throwing much and looked tired for once, but at the same time Quintana never was really that good, and even at 110% I don't see todays Williams beating slick fighters that give him angles, and are bigger than him. Matter of fact I think he would get hurt.

Yeah, especially if Jackie tells him nothing but "double the jab" all fucking night.

That's why I said against B level competition a la jermaine Taylor, Miranda, Andre Ward and co. However at 175 I think he gets destroyed and probably stopped by the best there.
