WBA middleweight champion Felix Sturm dropped a bombshell this week when he announced that he would be leaving German-based promotional company Universum. Sturm told German tabloid paper Bild, that he would not extend his contract when it runs out in a few months time and wished Universum well. This is really bad. Now I see why they were protecting Sturm for so long, he was there main cash cow. Well they do have no one but themselves to blame themselves for Sturm leaving because even if they were making money they was basically wasting all of his talent.

Exactly my thoughts. Sturm wanted more than one ABC belt and a matchup with Abraham would have been a major event. But he was protected for a reason - cash cow.
Let's see where he goes now, and if he gets better opposition than Sato in MW with his next promoter.
