130 is even a stretch...dude is a Flyweight at 26...even on steroids, which he obviously ain't taking now, there might not be enough to get him effective that high much less the absurd calls for Welterweight someday.Comment

Would Rather Watch Paint Dry
I would rather watch paint dry than watch Donaire fight an unknown midget!
I'm a Filipino but I don't like the way Donaire fights. He is one pretentious boxer who drop his left hand as if to say he's smart. I don't like that. He names himself 'flash' but I don't see him fight fast like Pacquiao. He is one arrogant Fil-Am who left his father for Rachel Donaire - a person with questionable character.
Of course Donaire will win this fight! Because he's fighting a wimp! If he doesn't knock Concepcion out in 2 rounds, then it would only mean one thing - HE IS OVERATED!Comment

Just a thought or two...
There are five weight divisions between Flyweight and Featherweight (counting those bookends) and no one has won titles in all five in all of the history of the fight game.
If Donaire achieves that which no one else has as yet done, it can't be anything to sneer at. That shall be a fully stamped ticket to Canastota and every other place where they have some respectable type of Hall of Fame.
Even better if he becomes undisputed champ in a couple of divisions or so. Much, much better. World championships in each of five divisions, two of which undisputed. That'd be something...a new niche' in boxing's pantheon and he'd be its first and, probably, for a long time, its only resident.
I hope he sets his sights on that goal. Like you, I have reservations about Donaire having much success past 126 lbs.
Donaire does not have to do a Pacquiao; he can define his own greatness. He has both the tools and the opportunity to do so.Last edited by grayfist; 08-13-2009, 12:16 AM.Comment

If Donaire will not skip all these divisions and be a champpion upto light weight, he can claim greatness no one has ever had in lower weights...Comment
