This Saturday night, the man viewed by most as the best of the current Flyweights, IBF titlist Nonito Donaire (21-1, 14 KO) of the Philippines, ventures up the scale three pounds to a Jr. Bantamweight class ready for the infusion of talent he brings. He’ll face tough Mexican Rafael Concepcion (13-3-1, 8 KO) and don’t let the record fool you. Concepcion should be seen as a decided underdog, and it would be surprising if he won, but he did spoil the undefeated record of Filipino AJ Banal last year and gave a good fight to veteran Jorge Arce. Should the unification between interim champ Donaire and regular titleholder Nashiro happen, then it would easily be the best move made by the blockheaded directors of the WBA. I know that will not happen. Or rather, I'm being afraind that Nonito is not going to fight JP fighters since he was neglected by Naito and Sakata's handlers though he was constantly asking for unification...
All my concern aside, I wish Donaire the best of luck. He is obviously the best at 112 and will be so at 115 too. He can even fight at 118. Just a mere thought of Donaire fighting Nashiro, Sakata, Darchinyan, Arce, Mijares, Montiel and even Hasegawa is giving me goosebumps. Nonito is the center of gravity in lower weight divisions.Comment

Donaire can go up to as high as 147 with his height and his power i think is capable of matching those of in the ww division. If he want to reach Pacquiao's status he must start his journey to ww now after he blitzes concepcion this week he must pressure Top Rank to find other belts or superstars to square off with him and avoid defending his belts against upcoming fighters. This strategy is what Bradley is adapting choosing to fight a popular Campbell rather than fighting a mandatory defense with an upcoming Alexander and he is now focusing his sight on another belt that Khan is holding.Comment

As I have said in the past that Donaire's ultimate goal is to fight Juan Ma in the future. Someone here laugh at the notion, saying that Donaire is too small. Obviously that guy is an idiot. With the height of donaire, he can surely pack on pounds to move up to lightweight and possibly welterweight. Its not gonna happen overnight, but two to three yrs from now I see him moving up to fight Juan Ma. Thats if Donaire continues to stay hungry and dedicated and most of all win against quality opponents. Right now Juan Ma is at the Super Bantamweight, two division away from Donaire. In my opinion, Donaire would give Juan Ma a tough fight, but is not ready to be able to defeat him. Mark my words, in a couple of years, if Donaire stays busy, he can and will be able to defeat Juan Ma.Comment

Yea, I like Donaire. I think he's gonna be big in a few years time. His frame will allow him to go as high as WW, but I would rather he not go the Pacquiao route of choosing shot fighters on the verge of retirement. He seems more like a guy who will fight anyone at any time which I like.Comment
