Just like you say there are no height limits, there are no weight limits after the weigh in. If Cotto can make welter, who cares what weight he comes in at on fight night. And P-Will is a nobody at 147. He beaten Margs and is 1-1 with Quintana. So how has he earned a shot at Cotto and he doesn't even want to face Clottey, who called him out BEFORE the Cotto fight?! GTFOH. Cotto is the creme of the crop at 147. He paid his dues. P-Will needs to do the same at 147 before he can start calling out the big dogs.
    lolz....

first of all, pacman never "challenged" cotto, arum is the one who made the fight...second, cotto has been knocked out, beaten a nobody, and won a very very questionable decision in his last 3 fights....no way in hell is he the "creme of the crop" at 147......and even tho he won a close fight against mosley already, mosley earned a rematch, and PWILL earned his shot at cotto, by both beating the man who made cotto quit.....problem is, neither cotto or mosley want to fight williams, not b/c he hasn't "earned it," but b/c they know what's gonna happen....williams is a freak, nobody wants it.

p.s. the clottey fight didn't happen, b/c hbo wouldn't put up enough money to make it happen.

    • As usual people are jumping on the hype wagons judging fighters by their last fight and forgeting what they have done in the past. Williams is going to get ktfo this isn't a rusty old Winky, this is a big powerfull MW that shines when people go at him. Williams is in for a beating.

If you call that going at somebody you must be a Mayweather fan. Williams fights nothing like Hopkins. Based on your previous post I can tell you're a deluded nuthugger and I'll be more than happy to take your measly 15K.

          • GUERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRA! How will this NOT be the FOTY?

            On second thought...

            Klitchsko-Arreola
            Haye-Valuev
            Williams-Pavlik
            JMM-PBF
            Pacquiao-Cotto
            Bute-Andrade II
            Dawson-Johnson II
            Froch-Dirrell
            Kessler-Ward
            Abraham-Taylor

That's basically 3 months worth of awesome boxing packed into the remaining 4+ months of the year. Why do all these fights have to happen during football season??? It's been 3 months since there's been a good fight and those were the perfect months for boxing to capitalize on a watered down sports scene.

            • I want to bet that Pavlik knocks Williams out within the first 6 rounds, any takers?

If Williams is able to make 147 easily, which he says he still is, then he's a Welterweight. So yes, by the rules of boxing, it's an even sized match. You seem to be yet another poster who doesn't understand that boxing has weight divisions, not height divisions. Hearns, who is ranked among the top 3 Welterweights of all time by most boxing historians, was the same height as Williams.

Williams was fighting at Welterweight only a year ago, and has been trying to make Welterweight fights ever since, so I see no reason to disbelieve him when he says he can still fight comfortably at that weight.

Winky didn't look at all rusty or particularly old in that fight, he just didn't have the style to cope with Williams. I very much doubt Winky would have done much better even if he had still been in his prime.

Hopkins didn't go at him. He made Pavlik pack on 10 extra pounds that he's not used to fighting with, and basically ran away from his right hand all night. Oh yeah, and when BHop rehydrated, he was almost 190 pounds. He was a tremendously larger man, who is one of the all-time great defensive fighters, and he out-boxed a young cub who was out of his element.

PWill is no BHop, by the way. Let's just clear that out of the way now...

Now they will be at 160, where Pavlik is comfortable. When guys try to pressure him, he flattens them. Miranda and Taylor can both tell you about that. Those guys hit him with bombs and he kept laying the wood. Williams couldn't dream of hitting like them, and Pavlik's going to make him work.

Also, stop grading a guy by their last fight and look at the overall picture. Do you really think Pavlik didn't learn from his loss? Even BHop said Kelly can do a few little things to become one of the great MW champs of all-time.

Pavlik was a little green in that fight, but he's grown mentally. He's not being asked to come out of his element here, and he'll throw just as many punches as Williams.
