He can't keep the "villain" act up for another 5 fights and not fight challenge a legit WW.

PBF is far from the smartest man in boxing....if that is the case....David Haye is the 2nd smartest man in boxing.
Everyone, even Foreman eventually wanted to be the peoples champ. Floyd has never trashed the fans. I don even think he ever wanted to be a villian. Why do so called boxing fans (not a shot at you only where the shoe fits) take offense to him talkin trash to other fighters. Oh lets not forget, everyone he said he'd beat hell he beat 'em .

But then again, I wouldn't call him a genius either like he orchestrated all of this with a clear mind. Clearly he is a bit insecure and gets his feelings hurt every now and then like Post-Baldomir fight. The thread starter shouldn't pretend like Mayweather is this big genius who is immune to all the criticism because he is just acting out his persona....HE IS STILL A MICHAEL JACKSON-ESQUE KID LIVING IN A 32 YEAR OLD'S BODY.
floyd runs his mouth because he can, not because he is imitating ali.

For instance, if Pacquiao does lose to Cotto..you can't tell me a fight with Mayweather vs Pacquiao then would be as big as if it were Pacquiao beating Cotto. All Floyd would have left is Mosley and Cotto to fight and both of them don't bring the type of money he'd see with a Pacquiao fight at that point.

All Floyd needed to do was wait 1 more day after the Pacman vs Hatton fight and we could've had the fight we all want to see, but after Nov 14th, that could all go away.

This is where you're wrong, I have agreed with many of your post on this subject but here you're wrong, You dont plan your career on other fighter...Mayweather is mayweather while Pacquiao is pacquiao so dont expect on of them to wait to see what or how the other does before they challenge each other to a fight.

In boxing fights are all about right timing and luck, If they're both good enough like we think then they should/would both continue winning until they meet if one of them loses along the way sooo be it.

I wouldn't say he is dumb but then again, he aint the smart kid on the block either.

Most of the stuff he says exposes his immaturity but then again he consciously raises his trash-talking bar, once a fight is signed and it's press-conference/promoting time, so he is aware that it will make his fights bigger and get him paid more.

Not everybody has the luxary of just training and fighting, being all quiet like Cotto. Just Puerto Rican and a good fighter is enough for him to sell out MSG during the Rican Parade. Floyd doesn't have that luxary as a African-American.

When's the last time the whole Black community got together and rallied around one fighter? Joe Louis?

floyd is as clueless as kanye.
If you think floyd is as clueless as kanye, he just did his job. Maybe that's what he wants you to think. It's a classic comic book story where a one time good guy becomes a villain because he becomes disillusioned with the world and how he is perceived. From hero to victim to villain. Classic.

Doesnt make sense. Funny people believe him when it gives them something to talk about, he says he is the greatest of all time, do you believe that.

I think it's the other way around with Pac. He said yes to Roach and Arum to fight Cotto at 145. I think he would have fought Cotto at 147 if Roach and Arum gave him the greenlight.

                    .
Yes but it's him growing up on watching Ali that influnced him to be the way he is.

His act is unique and generates alot of interest in his fights. Half of the people who bought his fights probably wanted to see him lose and ko'd. And the more he keeps winning, the more fans want to see him lose. Brillant.

WORD...this is what i been tryna tell people
his whole "bad guy" persona is just an act to help sell his fights
if u look at his fights with arturo gatti, how much **** they were talkin
                      and then
after the fight mayweather was brought to tears because he couldnt believe he beat gatti, same with the ricky hatton fight,

the more people i see not liking him because of his behavior outside of the ring, the more he looks like a genius to me..because APPARENTLY its workin

anybody who seen floyd in his early days would know that floyd really isnt what he portrays himself in the media's eyes as
