i pick cotto to hurt manny with just a single punch.
that is all it will take and i fear that because manny has not been hit by a true welterweight that he and freddy have become waaaaay to confident with this "speed kills" winning streak he is on.
it will end on the night forgit about it.

People care too damn much, especially outside of America, if a fighter fights for their country. Who cares if Miguel is from P.R., he doesn't owe his life to you guys. Miguel is fighting for himself and if you can enjoy his style of boxing, jump on the wagon and root for him. One thing I have always loved about Miguel is that hes not flashy or in your face, he goes in the ring and takes care of business. People are so worried about claiming a fighter for nationalistic pride. "oh so and so is from my country so we are number one." Long live Miguel, I wish you the best on November 14th, and I'll try to be there rooting you on just like I did against Margarito.

I've always had the utmost respect for the way Cotto handles his business. He is respectful and professional.
Tito always struck me as an attention whore.
As soon as Hopkins exposed that myth, he cried off home, taking his ball with him.
Then his money fights (or embarrassments) against Winky & Jones etc proved that he was all about the dollars and didnt care a jot about his legacy. Even his most ardent supporters concede that.
He laboured to a points win over Jake Rodriguez a few years ago, then Kostya smashed him to bits for the title.
Felix would never have called for Kostya. Him and De La Hoya swerved 140 as fast as they could whilst Kostya was in town. Mosely skipped the division all together !
Tito is no legend.

Miguel Cotto is a very humble guy, a quality which draws me to him. You'll never hear him trashtalking another opponent or think that he's God's gift to this world. You gotta respect a guy who can beat the crap out of most of his opponents and carry himself that way. That is why I will always root for Cotto and never root for a guy like Mayweather.
As far as his country-pride, he is an individual from Puerto Rico who has great boxing skills. He fights to make a living for himself and his family. If a Puerto Rican doesn't root for him because he is not as outgoing as Tito Trinidad, that's their loss. I prefer his nice guy personality than an arrogant ass anyday. It's refreshing in such a brutal sport. Let's not forget his style inside the ring is pretty damm exciting.

Margarito lost every round and got knocked the *** out in front of 22,000 fans and he didn't run. he stood there and apologized to his fans that he didnt' do better and gave us an interview.
what are the fans doing for brain damaged or messed up boxers? nothing.
**** fans. its about a check just like us when we go to workLast edited by sycomantz; 08-11-2009, 05:47 AM.

Felix afraid of Kostya??? Are you kidding me???
Tito's fought Jake Rodriquez in 1991 and it was the last time he fought at JWW because he was having trouble to make the 140 lbs. After that fight he always fought above 140lbs. by the way he beat Jake 99-93, 99-92, 99-91 with like 3 knockdowns, is that "laboured to a points win"??? To me that's a whipping!!
Kostya Tszyu pro debut was in 1992 (after Tito had left ) how the hell he was avoiding him????
Tito won his 1st title (WW against Maurice Blocker) in 1993 when Kostya was having his 8th fight at JWW division on which he fought all his career and you wanted Tito to call him out????
Kostya was beat by Hatton an overrated boxer that could not carry Tito's bag more less last 1 round with him in the ring. And you are putting Tito in the same sentence???????
Stick to your Winky, Jones and Hopkins names and you can get credibility but Kostya Tszyu???? Are you kidding me?????
This is a legend theres no question, if or buts about it!!!!!
Even the Winky's, Jones and Hopkins will admit that. That's why they wanted to fight him, to have a chance of beating a legend.
As a matter of fact Winky and Hopkins careers took a new level after beating THE LEGEND!!!Last edited by prsi; 08-11-2009, 06:48 AM.

I imagine a Trinidad in his welterweight prime that could beat most guys that Cotto's beaten. I think he would've killed Margarito, but I don't see him having a chance against guys like Clottey or Shane.
This argument's still up in the air and the result of the Pacman fight won't do anything to clear the issue. But if Cotto gets a clear KO win against Pacquiao, it would be a bigger achievement than anything Tito ever did.
You can't argue against that point with the Trinidad-DLH fight. DLH might've given up that fight but Trinidad didn't do anything to deserve the win.Last edited by sangresabia; 08-11-2009, 06:30 AM.
