Then Cotto should get out of intertainment business if he does'nt care about people especially fans who are giving the money for a living. That's why Tito is still the love of Puerto Rico.

I can respect that Cotto is not fan friendly. I prefer guys like Tito who love the limelight and love the fact that fans love him. But Cotto has a point...he is a boxer and smiling more is not going to make him win fights in the ring. I never been a Cotto fan but I can respect that he is who he is and is not willing to change. There can never be another Trinidad but Juanma Lopez is making a good case...if only he would fight Caballero he could make a very strong case.

COTTO THE BOXER vs TITO THE BOXER

As a boxer Tito has a greater resume so far, than Cotto and I repeat SO FAR!!
that's hand down no arguements should be made, however Tito's career has been written and Cotto is still writing his.

Tito faced great oponents and was a prize fighter, and jump to big ppv bucs during and after the DLH fight. Tito was stronger and bigger than Cotto and most of the boxers he face at 147 and 154. He actually started to face similar size boxers after he left the 154 division.

Cotto has also faced great oponents and even though he's already making decent money in PPV Pacquiao will probably give Cotto what the DLH fight meant for Tito, Superstar Status and bigger ppv revenue. Cotto is more skilled than Tito and what people dont realize is that Cotto had a great amateur background that Tito didn't have. And all though Tito was stronger Cotto has a similar KO ratio (77.78 Tito vs 77.14 Cotto) nothing that another KO from Cotto would help tie.

I always remeber how people in Puerto Rico use to say that Tito will never be like Gomez and with the past of the years guess what he became bigger than that.

Cotto has a lot of boxing left and we can only determine when this is all set and done. One thing you do need to take under consideration is that Cotto has victories over bigger and heavier oponents(Mosley, Clottey, Urkal, Quintana and Judah) while only losing to Margarito tainted by plaster. While Tito only had 1 victory with an equal, bigger or heavier oponent that he faced and that was Troy Waters in 1997. Losing to Hopkins, Winky and RJJ.

Once again Tito's Resume is bigger and greater than Cotto's but already Written.

Cotto's resume is currently being made and there might be a lot to add. Will it be better than Tito's only time could tell.

I applaud Cotto...he is who he is and whether you like him or not he represents himself as a professional. This touchy feely subject has gone out of hand...when you are a prize fighter and you let feelings and emotions get in the way you lose that animalistic drive. I don't want my boxers tamed, I want them raw because the tamed animals are not ever the same....when you lose that hunger that primal instinc then it's over hang up the gloves. Become a singer and a promoter like ODLH....he was tamed way before he retired and he tried to continue fighting but it was over far before the Pac fight.

I want a hungry badass killer in the ring that shows no emotions....that's what made Tyson's facade, that's what made Clubber Lang a beast in the movie Rocky...you can't lose that drive nor that hunger as a fighter cause when you do the lights become dim and the lights go out in the ring.

I loved Tito and he is my icon but I commend Cotto for his accomplishments. No one will be Tito like no one will be Wilfredo Benitez or all our other Greats from the island. Cotto's career is still not over and he has accomplished feats already and has taken on some of the best competition at WW.

Point is guys don't let your panties get in a wad because the guy is not acting the way we want him to act...Miguel Cotto is Miguel Cotto and he represents a champion to the fullest. Tough **** if he doesn't smile or be outgoing....tough **** if he didn't pose infront of your camera and then walked away without kissing your ass for a minute...the dude is a humble champion and he is naturally a shy and reserved individual and I can respect that.

This is exactly how i feel about this subject. Cotto, and even Pac are humble guys, but they have different personalities. I prefer a humble person that believe in action being louder than words. Some guys enjoy the limelight, I give Cotto credit for not taking advantage of his potential for fame by mouthing off and calling out boxers. (not saying Pac does it cuz he doesn't. I like the way he conducts himself also. Just differnt people.

I also like the post fight interviews. Low profile. He remains humble and respectful. Even after his bout with Margo, he never said much about the "alleged wraps", and never claimed he thought he used them against him. That's a man. A humble respectful man. Some other boxers might have been a lot more vocal about this...maybe.

I think his biggest "calling out" statement was when he was being interviewed once about fighting a certain boxer, he said something like "I'm willing to fight him, he knows where to find me if he wants me."
But i also respect that people like their fav boxers to be more friendly, maybe those people can respect Cotto's privacy.

Not everybody loves the spotlights.
Kudos to the above poster i qouted for saying what i wanted to say. I couldn't put it any better myself. and Championboxer, it takes a pair to admit we can all be asses at times. I give you much respect for saying that about yourself. We all have our moments. Nobody's perfect. I know i ain't, and I'll aslo admit it.

But yeah, i loved Tito..maybe my all time fav besides Ali. But watch out for an up and coming rising star in Cotto.
