This fight has mismatch written all over it. It's starnge because if Cotto estabishes control he will make it look like a mismatch. But, if Pac finds Cotto easy to hit and can manage to not get hit or even be able to take the punches and even a tiny bit of Cotto's bad rep shows he will make it look like a mismatch as well. Weird fight, i think it's insane that they are gonna wait til Nov though why not Aug/Sept/Oct?Comment

And what you just did is nobel prize worthy material?
I agree with the article as well as those who say people are underestimating Cotto. The guy has had 2 extremely tough fights and he didn't look the best in, no denying that. However, as someone stated 2 years ago this fight would have been laughed at, but now its legitimate and even more shocking Cotto is the underdog. How is that possible?
The simple answer is that 2 years ago, Cotto was winning and in very solid looking fashion. Manny was winning but in tough close fought battles. The same exact thing is happening now except the roles are reversed. Paq is looking like a beast and Cotto is looking worn down, so the obvious choice is to go with Paq. There is no way that's going to change, people, especially ****** people of which there are a lot just in this thread, only see how good someone looks winning, and the better you look the better you must be as a fighter. Simply put, Manny's last 3 fights have not been against great opposition and he looked perfect, as he should have. Yet, two of these fighters were considered greats, Oscar an ATG, and yet those guys combined couldn't last as long as Diaz.
The last time Manny was in there against a solid fighter, at a healthy weight, with a good chin, with good boxing ability, who was in his prime and was able to time him Manny did not look nearly as good as he does now. In fact, him fighting Cotto would have been laughed it. On the other side of the coin we have Cotto, quite frankly a guy who has never really been appreciated in his career for one reason or another. I have to say the main reason is "Because he gets hit/hurt a lot." This is boxing, you're going to get hit, hurt, stunned and be exposed at some point in your career. Cotto is viewed as some... B-Class by a wide variety of people for this exact reason, and yet he's still beating A-Class and an ATG in Shane Mosley. Why exactly does he have this stigmata? Because he doesn't look as good doing it as Mayweather or Manny has and the reason for that? Its because he fights NOTHING but the best, and when you fight the best, no one is going to look as good as Manny or Paq has lately.
That being said, its still a close fight. I see Cotto getting the win by late KO or decision, not because of size, but because of timing. Cotto has shown far too many times that speed does not bother him, if it did he wouldn't have been able to beat Mosley, Judah or Malignaggi. Essentially, this fight can go either way for both fighters for the same reason in my view. Neither one of them, are one dimensional. Its going to come down to who can offset the others strengths, and that's who is going to win this fight. If Cotto can't over power Manny, will Cotto be able to outbox him? If Manny's speed/movement isn't a problem with he be able to pressure Cotto into submission? I think Cotto will have an easier time outboxing Manny, than Manny will have an easier time pressuring down Cotto, and for that reason I give the edge to Cotto. Both guys are great great fighters and either one can win, I just think Cotto is better all around than Manny and can do enough to handle whatever Manny can dish out.Comment
