    silly.

i think the fact he was headlining hbo and he was at staples probably in front of a lot of friends and family had a lot to do with it.

i think he wanted to look good and win his first belt with a ko.

i dont think it was his decision... maidana made him brawl and fight at his pace

maidana is very sturdy and a hard punching mofo... a very raw fighter reminicent of pac

Also the constant talk of "Next Goldenboy" can go to a guy's head pretty quick. When he discovers he can really hurt Maidana as he did coupled with the idea it's his destiny to be the new Oscar De La Hoya.. It's easy to slip into over confidence and a piss poor strategy.

        true.

        he's at a crossroads.

if he says to himself , "i didn't give it my all. i made a mistake. i won't do it again."

        it could help him.

but the opposite could happen as well. after you quit , it's easier to quit the next time.

Ortiz would have an incredibly uphill battle if he ever faced Bradley. He'd come in as a major underdog.

                    Interesting.

I may sound like a Hatton hater but I would of imagined him being 2nd since he was #1 but got beat by the best.

Makes you question the level of competition aside from the MONEY MAKING big fights.

I think he played it safe with C+ fighters until his popularity grew until there wasn't anyway of him not getting the shot at the big guys.

Bradley is a much much better boxer than Ortiz. How do you see the fight playing out?
