i actually think its pretty close overall

although gatti had the better boxing fundamentals he just didn't use them so we never really found out how good his boxing could have been. gatti is also by far the more exciting fighter and i think sentiment may be one of the reasons people vote for him.

hatton like gatti also has more boxing nous than he is given credit for. but when gatti abandoned his boxing and decided to go for it he would actually fight and box, hatton just smother his opponents and hugs them.

overall id say hatton is the better fighter, tszyu and collazo were good wins and better than anything gatti has done.

Gatti, actually knew how to box....watch his second fight with micky ward.

he really BOXES he was using footwork, ducking and weaving

        and capitalizing on ward's mistakes...ricky hatton...ehhh

            Hatton and its not close.

Hatton around 04-05 destroys any Gatti.

yeah but in this case, youre essentially saying that gatti was more versatile than hatton. Gatti on his best night would still lose to hatton on his best night no matter how one dimensional hatton may be.

lets get this straight this poll is only close because of gattis death , im cool with appreciating somebody in life and in death but lets not twist the situation. do this poll 6 months ago and its a landslide victory for hatton just like it wud of been if the 2 faced eachother.

Yeah, this is spot on here. I was saddened by Gatti's death but it does influence opinions on how good he really was.
