Sergio Martinez Ready To Fight Paul Williams on October 3

BoxingScene.com was advised that Sergio Martinez, WBC junior middleweight champion, is ready to fight Paul Williams on October 3 - if Williams' promoter, Dan Goossen, is unable to reach a deal to fight WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik. Williams' side is still negotiationing with Top Rank and they hope to complete a deal. Martinez is holding back from finalizing a title defense in France. Martinez is a slick in and out boxer while Williams is a tough constant in fighter. Williams has tremendous reach and height but fights close for his height so I see Martinez working him over at times and he has the speed to trouble Williams.

Nobody's knocking out Martinez without one-punch KO power, which P Will lacks even at WW.

Martinez is taller, stronger, just as slick and twice as quick as Carlos Quintana. He wins IMO but this would be a much more excellent fight for P Will than Pavlik.

Id rather Martinez unified against champ Santos and Williams fought full WBO champ Dzirinku(probably spelled wrong), I dont like interims fighting against champions from other organizations. Its like you´re a champion whose fighting half a champion.

So you would rather Martinez fight a guy who hasn't fought in over a year? Your post makes no sense at all. Santos does not even deserve the belt at this point.

Pavlik would far be an easier fight for Willy than Martinez. I want to see Willy put it DOWN on Pavlik and I know he'd get more exposure that way, but I've also been wanting to see Williams/Martinez because I know Martinez can give him LOTS of trouble with his agility and boxing ability. His jab has some nice pop to it too. I hope either of these fights pop off.

Nope. Pavlik is no easy fight and he punches much harder than Martinez.

I don't think now way in hell pwilliams can ko martinez. I think he can win a decision but for him to stop him will be really hard. I also think martinez has great chances of wining a decision or possibly a ko, he is quick, has decent or above average power that will give williams trouble.
