If you want to know one of the reasons why the sport of boxing is struggling to remain legitimate & relevant it is decisions like this. When a sanctioning body decides to "create" a belt to cash in on a mega event, it makes it difficult for a casual fan (or any) to follow who is champion & who is not. The fact that the "Ring" belt is necessary to confirm who is lineal champion is pathetic. If we have to live in the era of multiple belts/champions/champions in recess/super champions/diamond champion/whatever champions, then the powers that be need to have ONE BELT PER DIVISION, PER CHAMPION! I love this sport, but this is becoming ridiculous.

Catchweight fights should not be for a title. There should be a strict weight the fighter should meet. I think the junior and super should be removed from each weight division. And boxing is a business, so there atleast should be two-three belts for each weight class, seeing that no catchweight fights would be for titles and the weight divisions would decrease w/ junior and super removed.

I personally think Arum is doing everything possible to keep this Mayweather fight from happening. And he also helped the WBC make up this belt for MANNY. Arum is a crook!

This is meaningless - the WW title should not be at stake because it's at a lower weight.
