right, Emanuel would help Cotto alot because emanuel knows his boxing, I actually think if floyd sr. could teach Cotto some defence Cotto could be a real animal

Steward couldn't keep Taylor off the ropes. He's done a fine job with Wlad though. But still Cotto should just stick to what he knows.

I don't think his corner failed him at all in the Clottey fight. Cotto made his adjustment and starting moving more once he got cut. I didn't see anything substantially different from when he had his uncle.

He does need help with his defense though. Not sure if Steward is the right guy for the job though.

I wonder who would get more Face Time Cotto&PacMan or Steward&Roach if Cotto gets Emanuel to train him. I actually think Steward and Roach going head to head as trainers would get more Press time and thats why i think Cotto will not get Steward in his Corner. Getting Steward would be great for Cottos career in the long run but short term it seems like Steward trained fighters always lose in their first fights on big time stages. I Believe JTaylor, Vivian Harris, WKlitchsko, and a few others all lost in their Big Stage Debuts with Emanuel. Cotto is alot different from those fighters, with the exception of Taylor, but thier Styles could clash and end badly for Cotto. The other thing is will Cotto actually learn from Emanuel or just keep fighting the same way since the Mosely fight. Will be interesting to see who Cotto gets to train him but he better get Richard Simmons "Sweating to Oldies" to help him get some better conditioning so he Does Not Fade at the end of this fight

Steward is a move that Cotto should go for...
I reckon Roach would have a few sleepless nights and may find he ****s himself on the odd occasion...

Taylor doesn't listen to his corner and fights instictively. I have never seen Taylor follow the game plan or excute his corner instructions. The time he got upset with Lenox is when he was telling him to take out Mike Tyson already. Lewis said in the post fight press meeting that Tyson was tough cause he took a lot of shots and wouldn't go down. He didn't want to be careless or spend himself too much cause of Tyson's resistance

This is something that should be done during a tune up. He shouldn't bring him in to train him for this fight as the lead man. Maybe to give advice and gameplan.

Cotto is a quiet dude similar to Taylor. He doesn't need Steward flipping out on him like this during a big fight.

I don't disagree that Cotto could knock Pac out but when I read the headline I was thinking "Steward is a pretty strong guy, he shouldnt have any problem at all holding Pac while Cotto rips punches to the body and chin".

Emmanuel Steward is a good trainer for heavier fighters. I don't seem him as a good tactician for a fast fighter like Pacquiao... You guys are gonna give me **** for this but Mayweather Sr would be a better trainer than Steward. He's more used to training faster fighters and more technique...
