People say that their personalities would somewhat clash, but I'd still pick steward over santiago ANY DAY.

Steward has long been an anti-pacquiao though so far, pacquiao has proven him wrong. He has probably lost huge amount of money betting against Manny. For him to be a trainer of Cotto, it could be payback time.

Cotto needs the best he can get to prepare for this fight and Joe Santiago isn't that. I know Cotto goes a long ways with Santiago and he thinks he's good for him but he's not. Joe brings nothing new to the table and as demostrated in his first fight he's in over his head. It's not like Emanuel is going to change Cotto style he's just going to help Cotto fine tune his skills and come up with a solid gameplan to beat Pac.

I hope Cotto seriously considers Steward, I still think he could beat Pac without him but Steward will help make it easier.

It has nothing to do with "payback", it has more to do with getting paid. Stewart has lost a little cred in the training industry and I think he wants to regain that a little.

I think he's a good trainer but there was a time where he fell in love with himself and believed eveything everyone said about him being this legendary trainer.

I believe he wants to get back into training and Cotto is a guy who would help him at this stage of his training career. I also think that he is foolish to just say that he could help Cotto knock out Pac because I would not bet against Pac anymore.

This is going to be a great fight and I have the utmost respect for both fighters. I think Manny is the best pound4pound fighter in the game and I think Cotto is a tough fighter who doesn't get enough credit and has showed he is willing to fight against anyone in the division.

Steward looking for a payday!!! if he was so adamant about working with Miguel, why didn't he step up and beg to be in his corner when he fought Clottey!!! Stward is an over rated trainer who's still riding his fame from working with Thomas Hearns!!!!

            Manny stick to commentating!!!!

Steward is just after a big payday before his retirement.....

Why not bring in Floyd Sr. "the self proclaimed greatest trainer" to train him.....

It wouldn't hurt and is better than not having him in his corner. Cotto needs a game plan and somebody he respects. Having a yes man in the corner is not gonna help him during the fight. Even if Steward is hired as an advisor is not a bad thing. I don't see no negative with this, Steward is good with offensive fighters.

Manny hasn't improved anybody in a long time. There is a reason why Miguel hasn't contacted him and won't be contacting him.

Emanuel works for HBO and I am pretty sure they want Pacquiao-Mayweather. I am not sure I trust someone like Emanuel to prepare Cotto the right way, but he needs a real trainer for sure.
