Oh come on,that was easy in the ring but on paper it wasn't easy at all.
Baldomir was viewd as a one hit wonder against a guy who took him ightly and was a underdog against Gatti.
He went in his hometown too.
That was an easy fight because the wheels went off Gatti like they did with Judah but it was no cherrypicking.Comment

gatti was never a welterweight and certainly not a top welterweight. the odds may have favored gatti but who wouldn't be favored against baldomir? he's slower than valuev.Oh come on,that was easy in the ring but on paper it wasn't easy at all.

At the time he was in the top 10 after beaing Damgaard. It was obvious he was past his prime.
Then if you agree he wa sthe underdog you'd have to give credit Baldomir for going into his opponent's town as a underdog.
Certainly not cherrypicking as Baldomir was never really good himself.Comment

Actually there's a lot of holes in this statement. The lineal champ is trully everything. Erdei has disgraced it, but Baldomir defended against Gatti and then Mayweather, didn't really coast in his short lived reign. As for Calzaghe, he won the lineal crown against Lacy and had a couple crap fights (Bika, Manfredo) before he defended against Kessler in a hell of a fight that was his most significant win of his career. Calzaghe coasted as a top SMW contender before he finally became champ.Comment

He should win this fight if the guy is 42 or 43. Also, I remember Pascal beating Diaconu pretty easily. So it shouldn't be hard for him to keep his title.
I wonder when the Pascal vs Dawson/Johnson fight will happen then. Maybe next spring? Next summer?Comment
