C'mon man... not even tito was able to knockdown dlh!

Dlh was never a quitter and pac made dlh quit. cotto is a quitter, so what's gonna happen when cotto gases and pac is on the attack?

Cotto better end the fight before the 6th or work pac's body like a punching bag before he gasses.

Oscar mentioned at the end of the fight "I just didn’t care. I didn’t care if he was hitting me because I couldn’t do anything about it. Luckily he doesn’t hit hard."

      - Cotto took big hits all night against Mosley who hit's harder than Pac... and got battered to a pulp by Margarito, quitting yes, but not stopped

      - Cotto has a solid enough defense to prevent Pac landing combination after combination like he did against Oscar... sure he'll land, but not at the accumulation to hurt Cotto IMO

      - Cotto loses rounds when he's being backed up, Manny will be staying outside then jumping in... fighting the smaller guy suits Cotto

      - Pac has the tendency to start brawling when it's not necessary, if this happens he's going to get stopped

      - Another thing is, Manny may be extremely mobile and difficult to find... but when he does come in to exchange his body is there to be hit, one of the only punches Oscar landed was a left hook to the body which he said hurt Pac

I honestly think the best chance of Pac winning is to box his way to a decision, and Cottos jab will be the key to the fight.
      good post, heres my reply

-everybody thought that pac doesnt hit hard and people tend not to respect his power and that made rickys downfall. did you predicted that he will knock hatton in 2? and about oscar saying that pac doesnt hit hard, that might be the same thing he told hatton thats why ricky got knocked in 2rds.

-yes he took big hits from shane, a guy who hits harder than pac. but pac will throw punches from different angles and pac will throw more punches than shane. ifever this fight get stopped, its not about pac delivering a one punch knock out. i think it will be a tko due to the accumulation of punches

-solid defense? hes got a good defense but it can be invaded. i see some flaws with miguels defense. hes also very vulnerable with the uppercut

-pac will move in and out, side to side in the early rounds but i expect miguel to gas out and pac will jump all over him in the late rounds. the scenario i can think of is pac-dela hoya rds 6-8

-pac have the tendency to start brawling even when not necessary since when? his last 3 fights were played according to plan. the brawler you know is the pac of yesterday.

-and lastly, dont take oscar's word that he was able to hurt pac. i think that aint true cause we were able to witness that fight.

        1. Cotto is a converted southpaw - Pacquiao's last three fights were: southpaw (Diaz), converted southpaw (Oscar), and pseudo-southpaw (left hand dominant Hatton). Manny Pacquiao who is born ambidextrous (adept in using both hands in his day-to-day activities), seems to be stronger when fighting left hand dominant fighters.

        2. Cotto is not a predominantly counter-puncher - The only way to beat Pacquiao is to counter him. Even that can sometimes backfires, as Pacquiao has improved dramatically, countering even the counterpuncher Marquez. Cotto doesn't have the counterpunching speed, reflex, hand-eye coordination and superb timing of Marquez.

De la Hoya tried to be a counter-puncher against Pacquiao, unfortunately Oscar's physicality is of subpar standard and what makes it worst he's left-hand dominant. What's more Pacquiao can now fight backwards.

        3. Cotto gets tired - Cotto has a habit of tapering off after the mid-rounds. Pacquiao has a reputation of having freakish stamina reservoir. Manny is a throwback to an era where rounds are more than a dozen.

        4. Cotto is much slower than Pacquiao - Speed is an inborn gift. You can't teach speed. You either have it or you don't.

Don't expect Pacquiao's speed to diminish due to weight. Remember that since 2004, Pacquiao is used to entering the ring as essentially a welterweight (146 lbs. during his 1st Marquez fight).

        5. Cotto is not physically big - Pac and Cotto has almost the same height and have an identical reach. Sure, Cotto is bulkier, but you have to remember that Pacquiao spars with middleweights, some of which he knocked down.

        6. Cotto turtles - When on the defensive, Cotto enters the turtle mode. Pacquiao has long added to his offensive arsenal fake jabs, up and down feints, with 3 or 4 punch fast combos from different angles. Manny smart fast footwork also ensure of him having high percentage of accurate punches landing when faced with turtle defense (see Diaz, De la Hoya and Hatton).

        7. Cotto's feet are usually planted - Pacquiao moves in and out, side to side, throwing trajectory angle power punches while moving at an unpredictable direction at an uncanny speed. Cotto's feet moves when he's on the defensive and when his arms are tired.
Why do you always post those ill concieved reasons. they have no analysis behind them just bias.

I guess ODH having no energy and no strength had nothing to do with it right?

Pacs little punk ass doesnt want Cotto at 147 for a reason......

Actually he got everything right except the part about cotto being physically small.

10 lbs is a lot and it will be the difference in the fight.

Hatton may have bee able to show us where strength can get you against a guy Pac, if he didn't fight like a football hooligan after 8 pints of stella artois and a sideline of pure crack. Cotto is stronger than Hatton still, Cotto could pick Hatton up and put him on the top shelf at the supermarket against Hatton's will.

I'm done picking against Pacman, but I still think Cotto should win. Even at 143 or 144 he has all the aces, imo.
Cotto is the strongest. Hes probably as strong as a middleweight.

itll be around 12-11 so it might be worse. I just dont see how pac can make COtto quit.
or knock him out. Decision, ofcourse why not the guys fast as lighhtning with his hands and feet.

The guy can keep Cotto off of him

Its not pac's fault that dlh didn't balloon up to 165 lbs.

I doubt cotto will make the same mistake... on fight night cotto will be 10+ lbs heavier than pac. So stop complaining.

Wait a minute you mentioned to a poster that his posts are ill concieved reasons and no analysis behind them just bias comments.

And I looked at your postings and I noticed you're not practicing what you're preaching. wtf

Its pretty simple: cotto has holes in his defense and he gases. If not for these things there would be no way pac could defeat cotto.

Cotto has to end the fight before the 6th or he has to conserve enough energy to last 12 rounds.

if cotto can't KO a former 106 lber by the 6th he should reconsider being a boxer and focus on promoting.
