anybody who thinks that defensive boxers are cowards dont deserve to be called a boxing fan....just the fact that they get in that ring cancels out them being a coward..
if floyd is such a coward why did he fight de la hoya at middleweight? why did he fight diego corrales? why did he destroy genaro hernandez all these guys were bigger than him and yet he took em down..aside from de la hoya who from my view was just wayy to big for floyd especially at 154
so in that case do you think pernell whitaker is a coward too? is roy jones a coward too?
LOL..you caught a typo. That must make you quite the scholar and literary juggernaut. I'm impressed. There was no need to argue point by point what you wrote because it was clear that nothing you wrote was rational. You took a list of champions, many whom have been engaged in wars and belittled them by implying they were cowards for nonsensical reasons. At the end of the days these guys fought. That's not what a coward does. Since we already pointed out how superior your grammar is since you have the ability to catch a typo on an internet forum, maybe you should devote some of your intellect to study reasoning an rationality. You would be unstoppable after acquiring those traits.
According to your logic no one who is a boxer need be considered a coward. Yes each of these guys fought, yet some of them did for various reason back out of fights or find escape hatches. Are you implying that Rid**** Bowe did not throw his belt into the trash can in order to avoid Lennox Lewis? I never claimed to be a literary juggernaut but I do know how to spell check fields which takes less time than your initial post did (A one liner). Anyone who has any type of sense can do that, you only typed six words and still couldn't get it right. If typing a sentence with six words without error makes me a scholar and a literary juggernaut then I guess 80 percent of the people who post on the site are literary juggernauts (except for you of course). You were so fast to jump in and attack yet you had no counter-argument. If you truly want to discuss boxing with me I am more than happy to engage. Had you simply stated that you disagreed then things would have gone differently. I would have explained exactly why I typed what I did and I do have valid reasons. This entire situation could have been avoided had you approached it that way. I can devote tons of my intellect to study reasoning and rationality yet on the same token you should spend an equal amount of time studying the art of debate. When you debate an argument you don't resort to personalized attacks or go in with guns-a-blazing. If you felt that my post was inappropriate or out of line you should have said that, or you could have attempted to actually defend those fighters if you feel so strongly. To add to that, I never used foul language or said that any fighter was a coward without reason. If fighter is afraid to fight another fighter, that does indeed make him a coward. I never said any of them did not achieve great things. Many cowards have achieved great things in life. Perhaps not only can you not do something as a simple as spell check a field but you also cannot read.
let us take a look at the definition of the word coward so that you can truly understand it.
noun
1. coward - a person who lacks courage in facing danger, difficulty, opposition, pain, etc.; a timid or easily intimidated person.
1. If a fighter backs out of a fight or takes an easier fight because he fears losing, or he makes excuses, then according to the definition of coward, that is what he or she is.

No need to study the art of debate because I am not debating you. As far as spell check goes this is an internet forum not a thesis paper. I could care less if I make a typo. The world will go on. The reason I said something negative about your post is because I find it a bit bothersome that a person who decides to use physical combat to earn a living is quickly labeled a coward because the individual did not follow your career path that you laid out for them. Fighters enter the ring knowing that they will be physically engaged in combat. Not the act of a coward. Sure politics plays a huge roll in boxing and some fights never get made because of it. My point at the end of the day is a coward or somebody that has the character of a coward would not succeed in boxing let alone become a world champion. You may not like certain fighters or the decisions that they make but to label a bunch of world champions cowards neither fair or accurate. Anyways have fun with your spell check.

There have been some rare cases. Hatton/ Witter, Bowe/ Lewis. I can't call a fighter a coward and Mayweather is far from that, at the end of the day, everything has everything to do with money.
