In light of the HBO's documentary "Assault in the Ring.." Does anyone still think Louis Resto deserves to suffer for his acts against Billy Collins? I realize posters on NSB have no business forgiving Resto, however I'm essentially asking if you think he should be at peace with himself regarding his crimes against Billy Collins. I know, no amount of remorse or suffering will undo what happened that night but I think at some point Resto should be permitted to move forward with his life. Poll to follow, Please discuss.

Louis is ******er than Lewis. He is a complete moron, and deserves to be taking the bus as a 52 year old.

But you also have to ask (as Lyle Fitzsimmons did in his terrific piece last week), what happens if they never get caught?
I guess we can argue that Luis should be "forgiven" on the strength that he'll never forget what happened. He paid for his crime and deserves the hand that life has since dealt him. So no, I don't wish further ill will towards the man. But I don't pity what he's been through, either.

It took him more than 20 years to admit his guilt and it's only proper for him to endure the consequences of his cowardly act. He knows from the start what was going on prior to the fight with Collins and agreed to go with it.
