Why is Floyd getting no credit for fighting JMM?

But that's the point, Cotto FOUGHT those guys. Floyd's main reason for not fighting certain fighters was because of money, but how much of that is really credible when his biggest paydays came against fighters who had an enormous fan base, but were they THE best fighters at that time? One could argue for days about that...but it was a smart business move on Floyd's part, no credit taken away.

But, Floyd's passed the point of fighting one guy to get to the next. He's "supposed" to be the draw in the sport and the top dawgs "should" come to him, right? Isn't that how it usually works? He easily could've had the Pacquiao fight, but he saw a quick payday with JMM and took that before getting a bigger money fight with Pacquiao. But what if Cotto wins? Now Floyd can run around saying he was better than Pacquiao anyway? No...Cotto could say I FOUGHT and BEAT Manny Pacquiao.

Pacquiao's going up fighting arguably the top 2 WW in the world. When was the last time Floyd even FOUGHT a WW? It takes bigger balls to fight a prime WW than fighting a 37 yr old Lightweight who's never fought above 135lbs. Sorry, I just don't see the comparison.

Marquez is a Lightweight and Floyd is a WW that once fought at 154 vs De La Hoya.

Floyd says when he looks at JMM he see's scar tissue and acknowledges him as a true warrior. In my opinion you're only ever as good as your last fight, and if we're going by your logic, and lets get real both DLH and Hatton were both damaged goods when PAC fought them; because of floyd.

However I do give PAC full credit for fighting COTTO. Just like I give floyd credit for fighting JMM, a current world elite who is nearing his twilight.

Floyd's had a 19 month lay off and he's fighting the no.2 P4P ranked 135 champion. Floyd does have a weight advantage but people are making it seem much bigger than it really is (no pun)...I wonder what everyone would of been saying on here when Duran announced he was fighting SRL? "O DIS IS A JOKE DIS IS A FARCE". Marquez CAN beat Mayweather and honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if he did. Mayweather however is a favourite with a +12 lb weight experience advantage.

To sum it up - if Mayweather wins it'll be a good win against a great smaller fighter. If Marquez wins it'll be a legendary win against a great bigger fighter.

This fight is not a joke, this is two great champions stepping into the ring to prove who's better. It won't be a great win for Floyd but it'll sure as hell be a good one.
