    it's a no brainer really.
I think that's what Floyd wants everyone to look at the fight as, him fighting the #2 P4P best in the world and him coming off an almost 2 year layoff. Well, Sugar Ray Leonard was on a longer hiatus and came out to fight the Middleweight Champ of the World. THAT is a comeback...

If anything, why not wait and fight Pacquiao in the Fall? If he wants to fight smaller guys then why not fight the best if he himself is claiming to be the best? All of a sudden Floyd who hasn't gotten into any serious brawls or been in a serious situations is rusty now? But chill...he's still the P4P best LOL...smh

He thought Marquez would bring him an extra big money fight and people would flood the gates to see him, but Pac vs Cotto is already trumping the hype for the JMM vs Floyd fight embarrassingly. I'll be downloading the fight in the morning, there's too much else in NYC to do on a Sat night, but if Floyd DOES lose, I hope the servers for this site are up to par because it will crash within seconds lol.

Ahem..well using Floyd's reasoning and theory JMM is damaged goods. Pacquiao already beat him. So he just "softened" JMM up for Mayweather.
See the Brian Kenny interview with Mayweather.

jmm is a hand picked opponent.

highly ranked , well known , good money BUT low risk.

please don't compare floyd coming out of retirement to fight jmm to leonard coming out of retirement to fight hagler.

        that's just silly.

Floyd says when he looks at JMM he see's scar tissue and acknowledges him as a true warrior. In my opinion you're only ever as good as your last fight, and if we're going by your logic, and lets get real both DLH and Hatton were both damaged goods when PAC fought them; because of floyd.

However I do give PAC full credit for fighting COTTO. Just like I give floyd credit for fighting JMM, a current world elite who is nearing his twilight.

Once again the FLOYD hate on here is amazing.

I was just about to make a thread about this. Floyd will have been out of the ring for 21 months on September 19. For his tune-up fight he has chosen the #2 pound for pound fighter in the world, Juan Manuel Marquez. Some say Marquez may be the best pound of pound. Marquez is also the undisputed lightweight champion, like Floyd once was. The fight is taking place at a catchweight of 143-144 lbs. Marquez is moving up 8 pounds while Floyd is dropping 3-4 pounds. Floyd hasn't fought at such a low weight since 2005.

Floyd is going to go through JMM, and then Pac if he beats Cotto. Floyd-Pac may be Floyd's final fight.

It's unbelievable the hate he gets. And i say this as someone who has started to be turned off Floyd with all his talk of being better than Muhammad Ali and SRR etc. But to criticise him for this fight is idiocy IMO
