but doesnt explain why fights in new york are in the garden rather than one of the big baseball or american football arenas in the city
the big fights happen in vegas.

if it's in new york , even if it's a big fight , probably not a huge draw fight.

Interesting how they rarely held Mania at stadiums prior to WM23, and now they seem to be going to all the large stadiums each year. WM21 and WM22 were so small it looked a bit pathetic to me, but since going to stadiums they've been doing 70,000+ for the past 3 years. I hope it never stops.

Actually, I hope they do Wembley some day. With more than 100,000 fans guaranteed, it'd sell more than any David Haye fight that's for sure. :laff2:

please tell me you're joking... Boxing second biggest sport in Europe? first of all, soccer alone takes more boxing prospects away than most AMerican Sports together.... and you act as if there are not other huge and i mean popular sports in Europe... are you forgeting Rugby, Hockey, Basketball? pretty much the same as in AMerica so that point is bold....and if you take into account soccer, i'd say more athletes choose not to take boxing as a career in Europe than in America (compared in a % Basis)

haye v one of the klitsckos would easily sell 100,00 at wembley as long as it was priced reasonably

why are the fights in the US never in bigger arenas? whereas in europe they hold them in football stadiums and get 50,000+ they hold them in 10,000 capacity arenas in the US. was talking about this with me mates yesterday and we couldnt think why. surely more fans=more money?

In this economy? I doubt it. He couldn't even secure Stamford Bridge for a fight, let alone Wembley.

Besides, who in their right mind would purchase tickets for a Haye fight now? Until that bell sounds, he could just as well do his back in whilst coming to the ring and call off the whole thing.
