I'm a fan of both sports and understand their differences, trying as hard as I can to not be delusional.

In boxing good boxer always wins over MMA guy, in MMA boxer has a slim chance of knockout, perhaps 1 or 2 out of 10.
So yes, it's easier for boxer to win in MMA venue than it's for MMA fighter to win in boxing ring.

Fedor has been cross training most his life. You cannot seriously think that someone can get to that level in just two years or so. There's no chance. Good hands or not, there's very little chance for a boxer to make the move to MMA and be successful. Someone mentioned that Wladimir's punches would be harder. How about kicks? The leg is more powerful than the arm, hard puncher or not. Fedor has taken it all, and still came through. For a person to overcome different types of pain and still remain as cool as he does is very rare, even in MMA.

Someone like Fedor has been mentally conditioned to fight under the rules he fights under. That's years and years of experience. Boxers can't use that stance they use or they will be taken down or broken down with leg kicks. That then leaves them no choice but to drop their guard lower, and that then gives them more problems.

Cro Cop crosstrained and was beating top MMA guys in two years, he beat up on Nog and Fedor.

K.J Noons is a boxer who crosstrained, and look how he embarrased Nick Diaz when they fought. It was a clinic. Boxers with good foot movement who do the proper cross training can do great in MMA.

I would pay money for Klitschko to fight Lesnar in a boxing match then 8 months later in an MMA match.
Lesnar would win the MMA match, but would get his ass kicked in boxing so, so bad.

Cro Cop was fighting as a professional kickboxer from 1996, and had military type training. So you're still talking a few years of experience at boxing/kickboxing/military training etc before he got to that level. That's not the same as a one track minded boxer. Obviously the guy has experience in various types of combat.

I'm not saying it's impossible for a boxer to convert, but I'd say the success ratio would be very low. A lot of boxers are set in their ways and don't train at anything else. You can't just pick up what the likes of Fedor knows in a couple of years. That's arrogance of the highest order.

I don't know much about KJ Noons. Maybe he had secondary experience at kickboxing or mauy thai etc, before he went to MMA. It's not realistic to expect great success from a one dimensional fighter who only has experience at boxing.

Certain boxers probably wouldn't have the mentality for MMA anyway. I think Wladimir would be one of those people. And the older the boxer is the less chance he will have at being succesful, as he'll be more inclined to be stuck in his ways.

If Klitschko lands a right hand on Fedor, the end would be near. If it goes to the ground, I'm going with Fedor all the way.

sorry but ALL mma fighters are overrated when it comes to PUNCHING POWER!!!

Wlad's jab, jab, right hand puts EVERY heavyweight in MMA to sleep. Fedor has to resort to his ground game. EVERY mma fighter has to resort to a plan B. No top 10 fighter in the sport can possibly survive if they try to fight Wlad the way they would fight eachother. no stand up against the Champ!
