Nate wanted to stop the fight before it got past the 4th because he knew he was behind on the cards and would probably lose the decision if it were stopped later. Unfortunately, the blind ref and the rest of the morons involved ruled the cut from a punch, rather than from the headbutt that so obviously caused it.

I can't blame Nate for wanting to get it stopped, but at the same time, vision problems notwithstanding, he was using the system to prevent a loss and it just backfired. The ruling by the ref was MUTHER****ING wrong, but hey...ya pays yer money, ya takes yer chances, as they say. This time he got screwed, another time he might not.

Whether he had vision problems or not, I can't say. Good possibility of it, but a nearly equal possibility he was bull****ting. Unfortunately. He could've felt that the fight simply wasn't going to go his way last night, and decided to take the fasttrack out, regroup, and try again later, having learned from his mistakes this time.

I will say, however, that I truly believe **** like this should never be allowed to happen, and while the ruling of a ref in a case like this should be considered final in most cases, when the video evidence so blatantly proves him to be out-of-the-ballpark wrong, it should be IMMEDIATELY reversed.

Just another part of what's wrong with boxing, this.
