Wepner, having been brutally cut early on in the bout against Sonny Liston, was allowed to go on into the 10th and final round of the fight by the doctor and the referee.

Wepner was able to answer the referee's and the doctor's questions correctly due to his trainer tapping his back as many times as the referee held up fingers...
