None of the cuts posted were in danger of tearing into the lid. All were horizontal. Nate's cut, although smaller was vertically through his eyebrow.
Note on Chavez's cut. It was a very TINY cut that was opened with the outside of a glove from a jab that produced all that blood. A cut he was said to have gotten in training camp before the De La Hoya fight.
Apparently you have never seen the close up of Vitali's cut against Lewis. You could see the top of Vitalis eyeball...
