My 8 year old son asked me "Isn't Pacquiao the champion at 140 cuz he beat HAtton" I answered yes. He then asked "How come Bradley is the champion and the guy before him is the same weight to and he is a champion" I said yes.

I didn't know how to make sense of this 7 champion per division fiasco to him because it doesn't make sense to me.

He may be a little bit green. But he is as ready as he is ever going to be. What more does he have to do to deserve a fight with Pacquiao? Being the #1 contender and having cleaned out the division with the exception of Hatton who was chinny and out the door should earn you a fight with the crem da la crem. If he goes on to lose that will just make Pacquiao look even worse for not fighting him. And I would favor Manny to beat Bradley. But doing and saying you can is two different things.

Just tell him Manny's the champ and that contenders win belts to make themselves relevant. It's not like this is new. There were always titles beyond the main world champ...they just weren't usually called world themselves. Then tell him Bradley is the #1 contender.

There is no question that a headbutt caused the cut. I still think that Bradley would have won in dynamic fashion. If Pacquiao loses to Cotto, then that is the fight to make. Bradley and Manny have similiar styles. Manny has more experience, but I think Tim has more skills and is the better fighter.It would be a great action packed fight.
