I heard Gatti's family are pissed, and they thought the Brazillians would handle it, but now they are planing to exhume Gatti's body, and have the Canadians do a proper autopsy.

I don't see how a big ass wound in the back of your head came from a rock(unless that rock is very big)...and who walks around with a real bad cut on the back of your head?

And how do you hang yourself with a purse strap? I don't see how it'd be strong enough to hold you...

That's so dang sad...all the blood, sweat, tears, knockdowns, comebacks, friendships, training, money made, humbleness, time spent with fans, efforts in the ring, positive attitude even with a busted and swollen face...

Just the THOUGHT of someone getting away with murder and reaping benefits...or simply the case not being "solved"...is so sad...almost as if it was all for nothing...plus Gatti had just retired and was just beginning to enjoy life without the physical pain and training

the only explanation i can think of for the blood behind the head is gatti landing on his head when the strap broke. i guess this whole thing doesn't seem too fishy when i think about it.

I'm glad that someone else here finally said that. Spend two weeks in jail and you'll be smiling on your way out too.

RIO DE JANEIRO – Brazilian police say Canadian boxing champion Arturo Gatti hanged himself with a bag strap that he tied around a wooden staircase column more than seven feet off the ground.

Milena Saraiva, a spokeswoman for police in the northeastern city of Recife, said today that police first thought Gatti was strangled by his wife because his body was found on the floor.

But an autopsy report indicated Gatti was suspended off the ground for some three hours early on July 11. A crime scene analysis found markings on the staircase column.

Gatti was found several hours later by his 23-year-old Brazilian wife, Amanda Rodrigues.

She had been held in custody but was freed yesterday after police ruled Gatti's death a suicide.

So, the story has changed 3 times now... Either way, justice will soon be done...

I'm not familiar with Brazilian floor plans but are beds usually placed RIGHT BELOW stair cases. Because that is the only way I can see his body ending up next to his wife. Unless they want us to believe he hung himself THEN layed down next to his wife
