Well I don't like it when fighters put down other fighters but he's right in the sense he's on another level to Hatton.

both have a string of wins against B level fighters though cotto may have an edge for the simple reason hatton fought mainly in the UK and his opponents weren't well known than cotto's (cant fault him for that).

cotto took a knee in one of his biggest fights against tony while hatton got ktfo by the former p4p fighter floyd.

hatton got ktfo by pacquiao, but cotto hasn't fought him yet.

i give cotto an edge in resume and skills, but i dont think he trumps hatton too much to call him overrated.
Cotto has EVERY right to call hatton overrated. Overwhelming popular opinion is that he was overrated. When has hatton ever fought through broken ribs? Cotto doesn't make excuses and Cotto takes all comers. hatton ducked Witter. He ducked Witter imo because there was a good chance he would lose. He took Mayweather and then Pacquiao because he believed them to be smaller than he was and because he thought he had a puncher's chance if he trained hard enough and convinced himself he could do it. He couldn't.

Cotto did not say that with rancor or ill feeling but with objective reasoning. He only commented on those two fighters because they are the two fighers most people are basing Pacquiao's greatness upon. I like Pacquiao too, knocking out a challenger in just two rounds after that laughable defense? How could anyone call the performance hatton delivered anything BUT overrated?

Hatton needed a biased ref, 2 am start time and a 36 year old Kostya to win that fight. Hatton lost to Collazo. The Castillo win was against a clearly shot version. And Hatton has always been an "attraction"...

Watch his fights, they're unwatchable. The guy has no skill.

Cotto is right in his assessment. There is no comparison between the two.

Cotto is better in every way and all his wins were against prime guys and better guys than Hatton's ever fought.

you say cotto didnt say it w/ any ill feeling but started w/ cotto has every right to say that. a bit ironic dont u think. also, hatton thought mayweather was smaller? floyd is taller, bulkier and heavier, where did you get that idea?

anyway, its not about who they didnt fight also but what their current resume looks like. like i said i give cotto an edge and hatton may be overrated but cottos' big wins are comparable to hatton's.
