Wow, Cotto doesn't speak often but when he does he is RIGHT on the money. Totally agree with what he said about DLH and Hatton.The WW limit is 147, so in that regard Cotto is wrong 145 is a division and its WW. However, that range varies from 141 up to 147 and if the title is put on the line then it HAS to be allowed for Cotto to be up to 147 pounds. If Manny wants to come in at 145 he can, however, if the title is on the line and the WW limit is 147 why does Manny get the rules bent just for him?
I also love how Cotto said he'd fight Manny at a fair catchweight, give him far more of a percentage, and have him pick the date and place. All Cotto is saying if you want the title then follow the rules plain and simple. I love how he is telling it like it is, just the way I like it no bull**** or politics involved.Comment

you mean drying out 1 pound right? cotto has had 8 welterweight fights, 5 of those weigh ins he has come under 147 pounds including his last fight. who's really taking advantage here?
147 is not a division. it is only the max number of a division.
welterweight = 141-147 is the division.
oscar vs hopkins for 160lb title catchweight of 158lbs
pernell vs cesar chavez for 147lb title catchweight of 145lbs
terry norris vs taylor for the 154lb title catchweight of 150 lbs
ray leonard vs tommy hearns 2 for the 168lb title catchweight of 163lbs
(i think, might be lower but catchweight for sure)
ray leonard vs danny lalonde for the 168 & 175 title catchweight of 165lbs
(not sure about exact weight but sure it was under lightheavy & super middleweight)
No rules being broken here & no history being made.
Just look at it this way, the fight is under welterweight limit, say cotto doesnt put up the title but still loses to pac.
How could you possibly feel good about calling yourself a welterweight title holder when you had a fight at welterweight but you lost & u still keep your belt?

Sacrifice, everybody in the sport is making a sacrifice by putting their life on the line, it doesnt matter if you coming from 50lbs. @ one point both of the fighters were fighting the same weightclass so dont give that nonsense about who is sacrificing more.
He called out Cotto therefore nothing should be said about that but him trying to become a greater fighter. If he is willing to fight on his own @ that weightclass that means he is ready, therefore no sacrification other than the one you always in is valid. If you want to become a great fighter than fight by the Original rules and lets not have Add-Ons. Or just wait till you get there and not force it.
And yea, if you ask me, the 2lbs is more sacrificial @ the moment because its a last minute thing, which Manny has been in the weighclass before and has been going fine, no excuses there Brah.
