Bottom line: Clottey almost beat Cotto, now what do you think Pacquiao is going to do? Pacs not even my favorite fighter but have you been paying attention? Are you serious Matteo? Margarito's slow ass beat him. You're here talking about De la Hoya on Kangaroo meat? Honestly, if you're going to make predicitons, please base it on something other than 'Cotto's bigger.' And please, for all of you Cotto fans. I like Cotto, he's an exceptional fighter, absolutely elite, but please, get out your tiny little ladders and climb down off of his nuts. Or, just wait until Pacquiao puts him on the floor and just step off. There's your prediction.
I'm sorry but just because Clottey almost beat cotto doesn't mean if Pac wins he will be able to beat Clottey. Margarito slow ass beat him? Margarito is at the level of Pwill 5'11 and power hitter. I would say the fight will be close and will be crazy. I have Cotto to win it but I also know that Pac is bad ass.

To the other post if Pac has more heart than Cotto we will never know as they haven't fought yet. It would be impossible to know by one fight when he was amateur and won by luck with KO. In order to gain heart in boxing one fight or three of your career don't specify that you have more heart than anyone. It is more like a what you do in every fight that only certain issues will make you quit. You will fight til the end or try your best at all times.. Ciao

sorry to interrupt, but personally the bottom line in his article is true. Cotto doesnt have any problems making weight at 147, 145 wont drain him, and how can we really attest to pacquiao's will and his chin, when he only had 3 fights against guys over 130. Oscar at 147, drained himself and didnt have the full power of a welter weight, and he wasnt even able to hit pacquiao. Same against Hatton at 140, hes never been hit flush by a guy that weight. And what kills me is that i think as great as his last 3 wins were, Pac is a bit overrated. He's rated as the pound for pound best, and if hes suppose to be a welterweight, i dont think hes better then the upper echelon in that division, Mosely, Cotto, Margarito "unleaded of course", Clottey, Paul Willaims, even guys like Judah and Cintron can pose problems for Pac. With the exception of paul williams, this is the worse fight Pacquaio couldve taking. I just see Cotto imposing his will on pac, much like he did with Judah to pull out the victory.

Too compare the cotto vs clottey fight an use that as an example as to why Cotto would win is crazy, honestly im not a fan of neither, but to me the only reason Cotto's fight was so close was because he was fighting with one eye for 8 rounds, and still one the championships rounds on my scorecard, and if people are comparing those fights to build an assessment that Pacquiao is a misrepresentation of the facts. Clottey was able to use his size, to back Cotto up and put pressure on, Pac cant and wont impose his will on cotto to do that, Cottos going to get hit a lot, but 2 pounds down is not going to have the type of impact that most people think. If a featherweight can knock him out with a body shot, what can a true welterweight do to those ribs. You can judge pacs chin, because DE LA hoya never hit him, and if he did at 147 lbs on fight night. It was like getting hit by a junior WW, and against hatton, i could tell within the 1st minute and a half hatton was going to lose, he was overwhelmed by his speed. This is different, Cotto will be entering the ring at about 160. Losing 2lbs a night before isnt going to have much of an affect on cotto, but i dont know the affect of pac getting hit by a guy who is going to weigh mininum 15lbs heavier on fight night is going to affect him. To me this is Pac's 1st true test, his last 3 opponents were handpicked, hes in for a war. Goodluck

              • I've stated it all along: PAC IS NOT A PRESSURE FIGHTER

A guy his size cannot just plow through cotto. His style is in the middle of the ring.Likes to trade punches.

So many are relying on his speed. "speed kills, speed kills, speed kills!" thats not the way to beat cotto. There's alot at stake for cotto and the publisity of pac being #1 p4p is only gonna fuel him. He's gonna dig deep.to the body. He's fought opponents who are litterly middle weights. To think pac is gonna bully him around is insane.

                • I'll more than likely end up missing this match. I hope I get to see Dirrell-Froch though.

Pac will win. He will make Cotto look ruined/weight drained/horrible whatever analogies you want to put on it. Pacquiao will overwhelm him.

Could not of said it any more Flawless.

Theres been too much Misinterpretation of both fighters last 3 fights.

So many are ignoring the fact that manny has not been touch by a welterweight year-to-date.Delahoya? couldnt even see the invisible punches coming at him,he was target practice.Hatton? psssshhh what can i say? He was better off wearing a sign saying "open".Bottom line, very big test for pac.

good to see somebody with sense speak, speed can kill, but you have to have the will and determination to match that. Cotto is an underrated boxer, however, he is one dimensional, and pac wont be able to back cotto up, no matter how fast he is. I dont see in hell, how pac stays in the middle of the ring and box, and not look like Judah did against Cotto, or Cotto did against Margarito. IF pac wins, and thats a big *****, he is no doubtedly the best, pound for pound out, and ill put him ahead of mayweather, but birds of a feather flock together, and style wise, this is the wrong fight for Pac, he shouldve warmed himself up against a true WW Judah, or Cintron, perferably, somebody with the power to test his chin, and the fortitude to withstand his speed, this isnt a step up in competition for Manny, this is an elevator straight to the 5th floor.
