I think that you'll find most of those who are so Anti-oscar on NSB are also those who have very strict biases in their posts and opinions regarding their favourite fighters, and the ones whom they despise for very little good reason at all.. Objectively, whether one cares for him or not, that Oscar is an all time great is incontrovertible. His first loss came at 32 fights, after all. I'll not go into the rest of it as I think there's been some VERY good posts in this so far, and I'm not keen on saying what's already been said. I wish I could Green K this whole thread.
Has everyone forgotten the greatness that is Oscar De La Hoya?????????????

Yea, he would have beaten Cotto no problem, but lets not go overboard on how great Oscar was.Ok look, I'm not an Oscar fan, but I recognize when a fighter is great. Oscar had it all, a great chin, fast hands, great coordination, a badass left hook, and most of all a brain in the ring. It seems like Oscar gets no respect anymore, is it because he is so rich and handsome? Mosley and Vargas(one of my all time favorites) used roids against him, that goes to show you that fighters feared him. I belive that he lost to sturm, but he went into that fight out of shape as ***, but i know that a loss is a loss. The Oscar that fought my idol, chavez was almost unbeatable. yea you guys have heard this before, but how many of you that have watch the Oscar vs tito have tito winning???? Some of you guys say cotto a guy that got smashed by Marg(B level fighter) could beat Oscar. Cotto barley beat an 36 year old Mosley. Cotto got rocked by the ricardo torres' and DeMarcus Corley's of the world. ARE YOU SERIOUSLY SAYING THAT COTTO AT 140 COULD HAVE BEATEN OSCAR?? go watch some tapes.
His performance against Tito was pathetic. He was a winner, but not a great fighter.Comment
