I to get the feeling De La Hoya is being underrated.

    Oscar De La Hoya's Accomplishments

    Resume Of Wins
    Jimmi Bredahl (16-0)
    Giorgio Campanella (20-0)
    Jorge Paez (53-6-4)
    Rafael Ruelas (43-1)
    Genaro Hernandez (32-0-1)
    Jesse James Leija (30-1-2)
    Julio Cesar Chavez (96-1-1) X2
    Miguel Angel Gonzalez (41-0)
    Pernell Whitaker (40-1-1)
    Hector Camacho (63-3-1)
    Ike Quartey (34-0-1)
    Oba Carr (48-2-1)
    Arturo Gatti (33-4-0)
    Javier Castillejo (51-4)
    Fernando Vargas (22-1)
    Luis Ramon Campas (80-5)
    Felix Sturm (20-0)
    Ricardo Mayorga (27-5-1)

To me that is a pretty good resume. People seem to forget his wins over the likes of unbeaten Genaro Hernandez, unbeaten Miguel Angel Gonzalez, and Rafael Ruelas. All very underrated wins.

His wins over Whitaker, and Quartey were extremely close fights that could of wait either way. But still two very good wins over world class oppostion.

His wins over Leija, Carr, Castillejo, are all good and solid wins. Going into into the De La Hoya fight Leija was a good fighter who had wins over Azumah Nelson, and Louie Espinoza, and had never been stopped.

Carr's two losses had come against Trinidad and a MD loss to Ike Quartey. And Carr had some sound wins heading into the De La Hoya fight.

After De La Hoya defeated Castillejo, Castillejo would go on to defat the unbeaten Roman Karmazin and win the WBA 160 title stopping Felix Sturm.

His wins over Chavez don't mean a huge deal, and his win over Strum isn't real to great due to the fact that he shound't of been given the decision.

Hector Camacho may have seen better days, but he hadnt tasted defeat in 3 years, and had wins over some good contenders and faded ATG's.

But I really do feel he should of got decisions against Trinidad and Mosely in the second fight. Two wins that would add huge bulk to his resume.

His wins over Vargas is impressive also, do the Trinidad fight had taken alot out of Vargas, he was till a very capable fighter.

In De La Hoya's resume he beat alot of very underrated unbeaten fighters, ATG fighters, solid vetrans and numerous world champions. It's pretty easy to downgrade a fighters legacy, as it can be do with any fighter.

But De La Hoya deserves much more credit and in my view is a ATG fighter.

Oscar is my vato! He is one of the greatest welterweights and light middleweights ever. I just hate it when some ignorant arseholes say "he didn't beat Whitaker, he didn't beat Quartey". He beat them and HOW! So shut your ignorant/racist traps! And he beat Trinidad as well. And Mosley, the second time. I long held a grudge against Mosley for not only getting that decision but claiming that he won clearly. He's still not one of my favorite fighters.

Anyway, Oscar is not only a great boxer but a great person with good looks and popularity 99% of today's boxers will never achieve. And he sings as well! Oscar will always be remembered as a great fighter, great warrior as well and a great gentleman! I love the way he didn't back down against a much bigger Hopkins and kept coming at him. Even when he was finished he still wanted to continue and he was so angry that he couldn't. You gotta respect that.

The way i see it, if you fight nothing but the best out there you'll end up losing some of those fights, he had some very good quality wins against tough opponents like Mayorga, Quartey, Vargas, etc, and looking at the losses: Trinidad, Mosley (1 of the 2), Mayweather, could have gone for him give or take a couple rounds. He was ahead on B-Hop, probably the most defensively skilled fighter of the last decade, and bigger in size, the only fights i really saw him lost, is the other Mosley fight and the Pacquiao fight in wich he was drained.

                  Very impressive IMO

Oscar is a good fighter but I'm still not too sure about him being an ATG. I thought he won against Trinidad but he shouldn't have ran for those last three rounds. Probably would have got the decision that way. This fight was the biggest one of his career.
