Why boxing fans seem to hate the UFC is a mystery to me, why do boxing fans have loyalty to boxing promoters that try to squeeze even single dime out your pocket? The bigger the UFC gets the more boxing promoters will actually have to step their game up, no more resting on their laurels.

The UFC isn't the reason boxings struggling, boxings been struggling for years. At one time boxing was on par with baseball as the most popular sport in America, now it may not even be in the top 8. It will continue this way till they fix their problems, the problems that has plagued it for decades. Start giving us better cards and stop putting all the big fights on HBO or PPV or else boxing will never be anything but a niche sport.

Some people are very ignorant on how business works. Why would Dana White have that fight in a few months, it wouldn't make sense. Fedor is unknown to the casual fan and has averaged Julio Cesar Chavez jr PPV numbers. Right now a Lesnar/Fedor matchup would do well under what UFC 100 did. UFC 100 was advertised as the biggest card ever, with Lesnar fighting the guy that people seen him lose to it brought great interest so thats why it did well. Dana would be dumb not to allow Fedor to win some fights and building a following, not some little cult following that he has now. A Lesnar/Fedor matchup right now would do about 800k.

Nothing wrong with hbo at all. Also 3-4 ppv a year aint bad. As long as they don't have weak fighters like jc jr on ppv when he should be on fnf

Most of the general public doesn't have HBO, and thats where the top stars fight. Hows the public supposed to get into boxing if they can't watch the top fighters?

Woord i get you bro but we can't expect all of a sudden fights to be on nbc. But if they do put like 4 fights a year on network tv it would def help boxing

But Dana White has had a war of words with Floyd, and I could see him trying to make this happen to go head-to-head with the Mayweather-Marquez PPV. UFC wins this one big, folks, and I don't care for the UFC one bit. Brock-Fedor is the biggest fight in MMA history.

UFC would be foolish to rush Brock-Fedor, but I wouldn't put it past the vindictive Dana White.
i like ufc but sadly.. i dont think it will matter.. ufc wont last its like the usfl vs the nfl .. if these guys were such good fghters thy would box so they colud get paid real money..it doesnt make sense

The top 5 UFC live gates
UFC 66 (Liddell vs. Ortiz II): $5,397,300 gate (12,191 attendance)
UFC 83 (St. Pierre vs. Serra II): $5,100,000 gate (21,390 attendance)
UFC 100 (Lesnar vs. Mir II): $5,100,000 gate (11,000)*
UFC 79 (St. Pierre vs. Hughes): $4,994,050 gate (9,704 attendance)
UFC 91 (Couture vs. Lesnar): $4,815,675 gate (13,224 attendance)

top top gate doesnt even crack boxing top 10 probably not even top 15
I mean, are we talking PPV or gate attendance or both? With the gate you have to keep in mind the seating attendance max for each venue.

Based on overall PPV buys, gate, etc on a consistent level in the last several years, UFC has been murkin. Boxing puts on "maybe" 2 big PPVs a year with the UFC doing maybe 4 or 5 at least.
