      I agree.

Valero is not invincible as most posters in here make him out to be.

Sure he's got KO power, but so does Soto!

Chin. Valero's chin can be cracked, Mosquera proved that already. Soto can take flush shots, he took clean shots well from Joan Guzman, and he walked through Rocky Juarez!

Defense. Soto has a good high-guard defense. People bring up the Gaudet performance to point out his alleged poor defense. What they fail to realise was that Humberto was actually luring the cagey light-hitting Gaudet to come in, allowing himself to get hit in order to return fire, and the result was a nice KO win.

Boxing skill. Soto is a fine technically-skilled boxer/puncher. Valero is so raw, it's like watching a bigger version of Daniel Ponce de Leon.

Size. Those who bring up Valero's alleged size advantage must be blind. 5-lbs. weight class difference? Hatton roughed up Pacquiao around the ring, correct?

      Soto
      Height - 5' 7.5"
      Reach - 72"

      Valero
      Height - 5' 7.5"
      Reach - 69"

While it's true that Soto likes to move forward and pressure his opponents, he has shown patience, he's proven that he can adjust, and is versatile enough to change his style in the course of a fight. Valero has shown nothing so far aside from his power.. still so 1-dimentional, only moves forward, throwing recklessly with his chin exposed to counters.

Valero has lots of weaknesses which the more experienced, and equally-powerful puncher Soto can, and will, take advantage of.

Anyhow, this matchup has guerra written all over it. Their come forward styles will make for an entertaining slugfest, it's gonna be a helluva fight!

I'm actually fancing Soto in this one. Valero is yet to be tested still and this could expose him. Soto is very fast and he has good power too. Should be a good fight.

It seems like most of the posts have Soto winning this fight and it shows there's intelligent people on here that don't think an undefeated record is the end all be all. I just wonder why Valero is ahead in the pole.

Is it going to be at 130 or 135? I know after he beat pituala arum said he would go back down to 130

i really want to see this fight to see how valero would handle a good competition. but let's not get away humberto soto is just a B fighter. i'll be rooting for humberto soto but i think they would want valero to win this if they try to rig the fight since we all know valero might be bob arum's next manny pacquiao.

I think calling Soto a B fighter is maybe a tad bit harsh. He has not exactly had the most favorable match making in his career. He's been brought in as the opponent for the likes of Kevin Kelly and Rocky Juarez, only to shock the latter and give the former all he could handle, with Kelly barely escaping with a majority decision. Since the Kelly fight, he's been unbeaten in 23 fights, except for a decision loss to Humberto Soto, and an avenged DQ loss which should've been a TKO win.

Soto may not be p4p material, but he is a solid fighter non the less, and a very strong 130 pounder. I think this is a good matchup, but Soto is going to put Valero to the test. Based on his history and his boxing ability, I'm favoring Soto by a little bit I think.
