Pacquiao-Cotto Pressure Raised, WBO Title at Stake

The problem with the title being online is that you will be fighting for a WW division Championship but with no WW division oficial rules.

Shame on the WBO even for suggesting this because they will be trying to force their Champion to put on the line his belt under restriction or viloation of a rule that the WBO itself goes by which is 141-147 maximum weight for WW championship fight not 145. It clearly shows that all that the WBO is changing their own rule just to ca$$$h in. What will be next step??? Will they accept no antidopping test just to see 2 good fighters go at it using steroids and watch them go at it for 15 rounds.

By the way nobody has answered a previous question of mine on this thread.

What if Pacquaio wins the WW title and demands that his defenses of the title be at 145 also will that be fair?????

Will the WBO accept this also just for the cash???

Here's another thought. How about if Pacman wins and want's to unify the titles will he make Berto and Mosley fight at 144 or even at 141??? Hell Mosley said he would fightat 140. Will those organizations accept that their champion put the WW title online not following the WW division rules of 141 to 147 maximum???

And if i was Cotto i'll tell Pacman "if you want this belt, lets fight for what the belt represents which is 141-147 limit not any 145 limit" if not i'll fight you at 145 for no belt at all.

What you dont get is that nobody is making Cotto do anything. All he has to do is say "NO" but he didnt because hes confident hes gonna win and he just came in 146 his last fight. It sounds to me like your not as confident as Cotto is!!!

and with the other WW all they would do is say NO and they wont be no unfication. but Mayweather is gonna agree on a catch weight with Pacquiao anyways so that WBO will be on the line this spring anyways. so get used to this ****!!!

I understand what you are saying and if you noticed on my post i wrote "if i was Cotto" which i'm not, meaning that i would say "NO" to this just like you suggest. My comment are not directed to the weight agreed either, i beleive just like you do, that 145 won't hurt him.

I'm just upset with the WBO (Francisco Varcarcel) to try to put a WW title online for a fight that is not representing the rules of the WW divsion which is from 141 to a maimum of 147. In other words he is bending his own rules just to ca$$$h in.

I don't blame Pacman for being demanding and won't blame Cotto for accepting (which IMO he shouldn't) I blame the WBO for "forcing" their champion to put his title at risk under a non-official regulation 141-145 for which the title does not represents.

because the catchweight in in between 141 and 147 which is welterweight which makes it a title fight,period.

I’m just curious, assuming Manny defeats Miguel for the WBO title which initially is Welter Weight title would Manny relinquish his title from junior welter and actively compete at Welter weight division? If that’s the case, Manny and his handlers would have to oblige to the official welter weight weight class. This is no knock on Manny or Cotto by the way, I’m just curious to how this scenario could play out given he wins the title against Miguel.

Utter Nosense. If the welterweight belt is on the line then Cotto should be able to fight at 147. Now if PacMan wins he will be welterweight champion without fighting at 147. ANd Roach will try and keep the weight to 143 or lower for every fight thereafter. Stop all the nonsense, become men and fight at the right limit for the TItle

Props to Cotto or whoever man'ed up and made this a title fight. This is a huge fight and everything should be on the line accordingly. There are no safety nets in the ring.

When Loew and Diaz said what they said in the Hopkins fight, it was a SMH moment.
