so duckman agrees to a non-title fight at 145 and when the fight got signed, he started demanding a shot at the title? that's some pretty scheming cowardly **** by the P4P #1 fraud in boxing, hopefully Cotto will break an extra rib or two as punishment

Could not have been better said.

“Manny Pacquiao is the best fighter supposedly … whatever,” he said Thursday on a conference call, which included Campbell. “He’s the poster kid. He’s not fighting the best in the division, though. He’s fighting bigger fighters who are cutting weight and chopping them up because they’re weakened coming down in weight.”~Timothy Bradley

If the boxers agree to all of these demands i don't have a probelm with it. But the fact is that at the beggining of the negoctiation the title was a demand by Pacman until Varcarcel open his mouth demanding, and Cotto refuse to pay the fees.
NOT PUT THE TITLE ON THE LINE PAY THE FEES if Arum pays the fees and Cotto agrees so be it. Probably Cotto will agree now if that's the case.

Now if Cotto throws his title away that will be his right also. Then Pacman will have to fight Cotto with out a title or go look for Mosley or Berto to try get the WW title this year. By the way this will mean less money for Pacman and Cotto and will probably mean that Arum will lose not only the fight but a boxer (Cotto) because this is his last fight unless he resigns.

I do beleive that there is a problem with the weight issue. I tottaly agree with all that say that anything over 140 up to 147 is a WW fight HOWEVER. Now that the title will probably be invovled and lets say Pacman wins the title, will all his chalengers for the belt will have to be at 145 because Pacman feel like it?????????????

Will that be considered a true WW champion if all his mandatory defenses need to come down to 145?????????

People we are not looking at the long term damage that this could do to the sport. For me every Title Bout should be at the conditions that the divsion (WW should be from 141 to 147) that the title is set for. If you weight at 145 you ar still a WW but a person at 147 has the right to be called a WW also and has the right to fight for that title.

If they want to make catch weight to have some mega fight go ahead but not on title fights.

Good...let it be for the belt...If it makes the fight bigger...that can only be a good thing for boxing.

Throw in Pacs belts and the IBF vacant WW title too...**** make it for the ring WW crown.

If manny wants the belt fight the man at 147.

i mean dont expect Cotto to get less money than Manny and still pay the ridiculous amout the WBO will charge him.

Again Manny if you want the title give the guy a bigger split or accept the fight at 147, and for Cotto, hey man just vacate teh damn thng and make everybody look ******!!!
I agree with that. I don't think it should be for Cotto's title
considering that Manny at going to full 147 to get it.

Too much money involved. Paydays trump technicalities.

So you are saying he wont fight until early 2010, when he has to begin to also deal with his political aspirations. Not gonna happen. And don't tell me Marquez can be paid off. Would you accept 1 million when the contract is signed and are set to make a career best payday. Riiiiiight.
