pacquiao just wasn't as good as he is now. pacquiao made mistakes. he hurt erik to the body early on and then forgot all about the body for the rest of the fight.
plus manny was getting used to 130 and with all the distractions and other stuff.

all of cotto's wins look good now but will mean nothing in a few years.

it's just those wins are fresh in mind and the opponents are still known because it was recent.

cotto's wins are very opportunistic. he did practically nothing at 140 and his best wins are zab and shane.

zab was coming off of 2 straight losses and a NC in his 3 previous fights before cotto.

shane had barely moved down from 154 and was still putting his career back together.

the only reason arum put him up against shane was because everyone thought shane was shot.
