Screw it, let half of youngstown hand their cash over to Williams? F that. I'd agree with Williams supporters on this if it wasn't for the fact that he's not being given an unreasonable offer and he's constantly claiming he can't get a fight. He's making a legit purse and an opportunity at the lineal title at 160. This is an excellent opportunity.

P-Will has no name recognition, even if he got a good shot to beat Pavlik...sometimes you have to sacrifice a thing or two to get what you want...IMO Top Rank is right and Goossen/Haymon should settle with something like a 25-75 split on gate/sponsorship money...

...if not, P-Will can no longer claim being the most avoided guy in boxing...

agreed man, although there is no big name at 154 i think it would look pretty damn good on his resume if he could say that hes the best 154lber on the planet. then when it comes to taking on the MW's he would be in a much better position.

there are some good fighters there; martinez and cintron are the two main names right now but angulo could soon rebuild himself to be a legit fighter at 154, clottey could come up and maybe in that time kirkland could be out (im not sure how the US CJS works).

anyways back to pavlik, i think if pwill gets a 70/30 or 65/35 split then he should take the fight. i heard that goosen was asking for a 50/50 and thats just ridiculous.

Maybe they don't have to split it down the middle but
Williams should get a piece of the Gate and Sponsorship
because both fighters are making the fight. HBO is paying
for Pavlik/Williams not just Pavlik. HBO is putting up that
$ because of both fighters so they should both share
in all revenues whether or not it's down the middle.

If Williams' camp back out of that offer, they are not as confident about Williams chances as they let on.

He is almost getting wage parity on the fight. Pavlik is the Champion and Pavlik is more of a draw. It is very fair.

I don't understand this standoff at all. It is a good offer.

Just split the purse and be done with the ego wars again, its really ruining fights coming off, and often not so much the money but the pride.
