1.5 Million is more than reasonable when you are the challenger. Neither guy is a box office star, but I think Pavlik has more pull than Williams does overall, even considering the loss to Hopkins.

I think the fight will happen as long as Williams Promoter and Management Team comes to their senses. They know Pavlik is a high risk opponent though but sooner or later, you need to jump that big hurdle.

It comes down to walking the walk.

My point is that if he wanted it he would jump on it. 1.5 million Come on are you serious. This coupled with the oppurtunity to reach superstardom. It seems if he was confident its a no brainer,

This fight could well may him a massive star.
This would be the signature fight he's been desperately hunting. I don't see how else he's going to make himself a draw. He should lose title of Most Feared if he blows this. Goosen needs to stop being shortsighted.

Kelly is a huge puncher for 160lbs it would be the hardest punch Williams ever took. Kelly jabs and has a decent work rate. I do not think Williams is going to use movement and try to tie up Pavlik the way Hopkins did. he will try to overwhelm him with punch output. All that being said if Kelly connects with a hard right hand it is lights out for P Will. I know that and anyone involved with his camp should know that too. he get KO'd by Pavlik there goes his most feared fighter in boxing status. It only puts to light what lots of other fighters have been saying about P Will saying Paul Who?.....On the flip side if P Will can KO Pavlik or even beat him by a decision it puts him on the map Globaly. Pavlik being a white blue colar champ from Youngs Town he is well known and for beating JT. To me it makes sense for the both of them....Lefty

I think everyone is overlooking something. The 1.5 million may be fair, but Pavlik cannot get over 2 million for himself fighting anyone else except PW. The entire purse was 2 million for the Sturm fight. What else can they do?

Umm.. That explanation was completely empty. One guy has won a fight and the other guy has lost a fight? That means nothing.

It doesn't matter who the bigger draw is, it's not a ppv fight.

HBO put that money up, Pavlik-Sturm was only gonna get 2 mil for their budget, this is almost double that. If I was on P-Will's team I'd ultimately take the fight with that split and be happy that Williams will be the new middleweight champ, but I'd negotiate for at least 1.75 mil.

Williams is in a win/win situation from a fight standpoint.
But I understand the money dispute.
but what needs to happen is Goosen needs come out his own pocket and make up the difference, and make the investment that if Williams wins this fight.
In the rematch They will force the 60/40 on Pavlik in which HBO would obvious pay more money for the rematch or Try and lure Hopkins or Dawson down to 164-165 for a big fight.
Or Maybe Dan and Al Haymon can convince Shane to Move up to middle weight to win a title in his 5th weight class.

Anyway it goes the fight needs to happen.
