it was the most tactical, calculating and patient as i've ever seen Morales....he picked his spots, got PAC's respect early and carried the gameplan to a T..


he brilliant that night...surprised me at how much poise he showed...a packed house of mexicans and pinoys, battle chants from both sides...but he stuck to his plan....it was vintage El Terrible...not many would have beaten him that night

Relax guy. I was curious to know what morales did to beat pacman in that fight. That's all. Why does it bother you so much?

I'm really finding it hard to follow your logic on EM's drainged weight issue.

I could understand why people strongly believe DLH was weight drained. He hadn't fought at 147 since Gatti in 01'.

Erik Morales first W against Pac he was 129 1/2 lbs.

2nd fight w/ Pac he was 128 1/2 lbs.

3rd fight w/ Pac he was 129 lbs.

Morales was a great fighter. What do you expect?

Skill wise, Morales was better than Pacquiao. His chin is also better than Pacqiuao.

And don't give me any "Pacquiao wasn't prime" garbage. At that time he had already beaten Barrera and drawed with Marquez.

On his best day, Morales beats almost anyone at those weights.

at that time he was very dependant on his jab left straight - a one handed fighter

It's my opinion that Morales won the 1st and 2nd fights. I know most disagree but that's what I saw.

i thought barrera won the 1st.

let's not talk about what i thought of the 2nd.

the judges must know what they're doing in the 2nd.

Makavelli, difference between me and you is i respect all the fighters. I respect pacman for being the boxer he is and consider him an ATG. I respected Margarito after the cotto fight but not anymore. I'm not a hater like you. I think mosley, floyd, etc are very good fighters. It's not inconceivable. But to me Morales clearly lost the 3rd fight.

Overall the trilogy is a wash to me. Even though Barrera won 2 out of 3, it was never clear who the better fighter fighter was, IMO.

However, I believe that Morales was the better fighter overall and if both are on their A game, Morales wins probably 7 out of 10 times.
