I don't think it's a waste of time. Johnson thinks he got robbed in the first fight, so he will give it all particularly this time. It will be even more exciting than the first fight, if anything. Johnson is a hard working and tough as nails competitor. We all know that. Just look how he handled Jones jr, one of the greatest fighters of all time. A weakened Jones jr but still a good Jones jr.

      Lets review the first fight:

I certainly wouldn't mind seeing them go at it again.

Shoulda happened right away. I think Chad beats Glen by now, but I'm pullin for the Road Warrior. Best LHW fight to be made atm other than Bhop v Chad.

I mean who else is there, Hopkins wants Adamek, Pascal was just beaten by Froch so a fight between them needs to build up first, Erdei won't fight anyone of note and the super six tournament pretty much locks up anyone else.

Oh and Bute-Andrade is on so Johnson is a step forward.
          whuuut?

Isn't Jean Pascal a champ at light-heavy now?? That's an obvious fight for Dawson if he wants questions answered.

I'd much rather be seeing Dawson vs legit big name stars like Hopkins to see if hes the real deal or not. I just see this fight as a waste of nearly a year of Dawson's time, just to clear up a close fight that went his way with an old fart. Not to mention Johnson is nearly two years older and hasn't really shown that he can compete with any of the other top guys as of late(looked like complete **** his last fight).
No offense. But you're an absolute moron. Seriously. So you're saying that Dawson deserves a pass after having swollen bloody lips in the post-fight interview and he is doing something wrong by attempting to clean the first fight up? I take it you're a Dawson fan, but most of his fans aren't as biased as you are. It's people like you that make it hard for me to be a fan of Chad even though him rematching Glen made my opinion a lot higher of him than what it was before. You say that Johnson looked like **** in his fight with Daniel Judah but fail to mention that Dawson didn't look like the second coming of Bob Foster in his fights with Tarver either. He won those fights convincingly, but got hit a lot and took rounds off.

yeah, but i don't think Johnson will go down without a fight. It'll probably go to decision. Unless bad chad lets it all hang out and goes for the KO.

Don't think it's necessary and shoulda happened right after first fight to defuse the "controversy". I personally believed that Dawson won fight although Johnson was taking it to him in the later rounds. Like just about everybody has been saying it is probably the best fight available at light heavy for Dawson which is more of an indictmment on howb barren the division is. His last 4 fights will have been against near 40 year olds which further proves my point.

I am a Dawson fan myself and I think it was really nice of Chad to give Glen a rematch. He shoulda done it sooner imo. But it shows that Chad is fair and a gentleman, like Glen. It's gonna be a great fight, again.

I'm still dumbfounded that some people actually think Dawson won that fight. Are some of you blind? And does everyone forget how he acted afterward? I sure don't. Johnson's face looked great and Dawson was a beat up kid refusing to give ANY respect to a guy that so obviously got jobbed. After the fight, he did multiple interviews both paper and television talking about how Johnson doesn't deserve a rematch and how we won convincingly. That was probably the most frustrating decision I've seen in boxing the past few years. A total joke. Mild-mannered, classy Dawson turned into a jackass punk overnight ala Taylor after criticism started to boil over. Taking this fight does nothing to better my opinion of him. It's 2 years too late. You give no respect you get no respect. I hope his ass gets brutally KO'd

BTW, to the original poster. Johnson not an exciting fighter? Why even try to make a point after that. It's all moot.

Co-sign about the TS mentioning of how he doesn't think Johnson is an exciting fighter. I want what he's smoking. Must be good stuff. Dawson and Hopkins may be better technical boxers than Johnson, but they don't give you the **** for your buck that he does. I forgot to bring that up in my last reply to him. It makes him look really simple-minded.
