I think it's a big waste of time. Sure, the first fight was close but a rematch is a waste of Dawson's time. Johnson isn't an exciting fighter and carries very little popularity, beating him again really doesn't do much except clear up the first match. I'd much rather be seeing Dawson vs legit big name stars like Hopkins to see if hes the real deal or not. I just see this fight as a waste of nearly a year of Dawson's time, just to clear up a close fight that went his way with an old fart. Not to mention Johnson is nearly two years older and hasn't really shown that he can compete with any of the other top guys as of late(looked like complete **** his last fight).

I think it's the best fight available for Dawson right now.

The Hopkins fight won't happen. Glen Johnson is the next best thing.

You would rather see this fight over Dawson/Hopkins, Dawson/Pavlik, Dawson/some of the best SMW, Pascal, or Cloud?

I am not in the least bit excited for Dawson/Johnson. I look at it as a road block that is stopping us from seeing Dawson in with legit 2010 fighters. Johnson is old and not an appealing matchup anymore.

Which isn't saying much, but as B-Hop doesn't seem to want to fight him, probably true. It's fine floating match-ups but both fighters need to want them to happen.

Look out for Dawson fighting the winner of Lacy and RJJ next; which will also be a complete waste of time.

Not all all, it's a fight between the number 2 and number 3 light heavyweights in the world with the winner possibly fighting Hopkins for the Ring title in 2010.

And that might be the first time I've seen anyone say Johnson isn't an exciting fighter, the guys has been in some wars.

Also I don't see what was so bad about Johnson's last performance. He went through the motions as he usually does in between big fights and it's not like the fight was competitive. He looked the same as he did against Montell Griffin, Hugo Pineda before first fighting Dawson.

You would rather see this fight over Dawson/Hopkins, Dawson/Pavlik, Dawson/some of the best SMW?

Dawson vs Hopkins isn't happening, Hopkins has said that much. Pavlik would never fight Dawson. The best SMW's are scheduled to fight each other.

Dawson vs Johnson I was a great, competitive fight that exposed some of Dawson's vulnerabilities. Johnson will likely come out the same way and we will see whether Dawson has improved since their first fight or not.

There are a lot of critics who believed Dawson was ducking a rematch with Johnson. It's better to fight an old man than duck an old man, since that's how it would be viewed if Dawson would never fight Johnson again.

No, if he wins convincingly it puts alot of questions about Dawson to bed. Like his ability against pressure fighters and his boxing IQ.

I mean who else is there, Hopkins wants Adamek, Pascal was just beaten by Froch so a fight between them needs to build up first, Erdei won't fight anyone of note and the super six tournament pretty much locks up anyone else.

Oh and Bute-Andrade is on so Johnson is a step forward.

While I agree there is no need for them to rematch.....This is simply untrue. Johnson is a very exciting fighter.....

BTW not looking good for Cabrera and the HR bet......
