There is nothing more that I'd like to see then Mayweather and Pacquiao going at it.

pac winning is good for boxing because the win of pac in pac-cotto will be much discussed because its rare for a midget to win against a giant like cotto. the fight will be discussed for weeks after the fight

2nd reason is simply floyd-cotto is not gonna happen, floyd will never fight cotto if he wins and floyd will retire, thats bad for boxing

if pac wins, may-pac will be huge, its like good vs evil. north vs south, they are completely opposite in what they do.

and the road they take also have a good story, pac wins against marquez, hatton, hoya. may took the reverse road by starting with the win hoya-hatton-marquez, even the match they take are opposite.
and we all know that this fight is discussed in everyone that knows boxing so this fight must happen

Regardless of the winner it should be a great fight.

Cotto by KO is the best for boxing. In general wins that complicate things make for the best boxing intrigue. Ali beating Foreman, Duran beating Leonard, Tarver beating Jones, Douglas beating Tyson etc. What we want is Pac to win and for a Mayweather/Pac showdown to ensue, but then the air is out of that balloon. A Cotto win complicates things and IMO is best for boxing.

So everyone pretty much agrees that a Pacman win would be the best thing for boxing. What if it's a boring decision win? Would that have any impact on how well a fight with Floyd does?

You guys got it all wrong, there's know one more worthy than Miguel Cotto to win this fight on a personal level. Lets just look at the fact that he has fought all the best fighters in his weight class and only lost 1 fight to a cheating SOB. Then the fact that he know longer has his uncle/trainer in
his corner. It just makes for a great story for a guy who has never ducked
another fighter, he's never made crazy demands and Cotto is the true meaning of a modern day warrior!

A Pacquiao victory would likely lead to a match with Mayweather, undoubtedly the biggest boxing fight in decades. Cotto-Mayweather wouldn't command the same attention because of Cotto's recent blunders with Margarito and Clottey. Cotto will certainly stick around longer if he wins as Pacquiao is nearing retirement. Bob Arum can extract more PPV fights out of Cotto if he beats Pacquiao.
