Please. A non counter puncher counter punched Hatton to death. JMM would son him.

Just no Ricky. Look at his lifestyle, he's literally a fatass now. And after getting ill? Admire the courage but Ricky I think you're punchdrunk, or just drunk.

I'm one of rickys biggest fans but

It seems Ricky Hatton may take the Shane Mosley route in terms of sitting back and waiting for a major fight to come along. Recently WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan and his handlers seemed to have some interest in calling Hatton out for an all-British battle, but Ricky said there was no interest on his end. Hatton has been on the shelf since suffering a brutal two-round knockout at the hands of Manny Pacquiao back in May. If Hatton does decide to return, he told Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer that if he ever comes back, he wants a big fight
Sorry but a fight between Ricky Hatton and Amir Khan at Wembley Stadium is the biggest fight out there.

This is actually a very winnable fight for Hatton that could repair some of the damage done to his career lately.

I think he means in terms of competition, not money/interest. Khan is a huge fight monetarily but let's face it, he's not in the same league of Mayweather/Pacquiao/Cotto/JMM etc competition-wise.

IMO if he did fight khan, that would be a tune up. A fast person who isnt gonna hurt him too much and who will go down after a good hard shot.

Marquez seems a bit adventourous for him, but if he didnt go in like a twat against pac maybe the fight would have lasted longer.

I watched that fight again yesterday, Hatton doesn't defend himself, ever.

Usually when he starts taking punches he'll go into inside fighting so his opponent doesn't get the range, but the Americans refs are uber-paranoid about breaking Hatton off his opponent when this happens in the big fights (despite letting it happen in other fights)

Ultimately, to be competitive with the likes of Mayweather/Pacquiao he'll have to choose a referee who allows inside fighting and as they call the shots they'll never let that happen.

Hitting and holding is not inside fighting. It is illegal to do that in boxing.
