Or why don't you just call this a jr. WW with a catchweight they can go over 5 lbs over the limit? It's the same. they are just meeting halfway. EIther way, draining too much or putting on too much weight has an ill effect on boxers.

i think most would rather see this fight at 147.

i think most though would agree it's a fair fight at 145.

i think it'll be for a belt btw. hbo and top rank will want to be able to bill this fight as a "championship fight" and "pacquiao challenges for another belt".

it'll be good promotion and could help draw some more casual fans.

miguel is not scared to put up the title. he just doesn't want to pay the wbo fees.

they'll work something out in the end and the belt will be on the line.

agreed with the bolded as most definitely will this fight be easier to promote as a title fight.

and i think it's been said already, but a title at Welter, and Manny picks up a record 7th title in a weight class (to go with his Flyweight, Super Bantamweight, Featherweight, Super Feather, Lightweight, and Jun Welter)

so there is that added incentive for Arum and company to try and make it for Cotto's WBO belt

we'll see if it plays out that way.

and as far as it being "fair" at 145 .. I just hope Cotto isn't weight drained
