Very bad move if Cotto doesnt put up his title. If Cotto losses badly he will be called the "Paper Champion". On fight night when he comes in the ring at 160lbs and PAC only 147lbs people will be outrage that its not for a title. You know Cotto will still come in as a middleweight and PAC as a welterweight MILLIONS OF FANS WILL PROTEST. Cotto might as well throw the belt in the garbage. Some already think he lost it to Clotty!!!!!He's not confident enough to put the belt on the line. ARE YOU SERIOUS millions will call him COWARD lossing even some of his fan base. It's hard to understand why Cotto is afraid to put his belt against a blown up featherweight. Is it because he's already a damaged good after margarito clobbered him to submission or he's just afraid and mentally unprepared to handle a Manny Pacquiao?

I think the answer is all of the above. Cotto is a completely different boxer after the Margarito bout, he changed form being an excellent to a good fighter and the effects were evident during the bout with Clottey. Don't get me wrong, Cotto is still a powerful welterweight but I am sure due to the beatings he got from Margarito lost his self confidence that caused him to doubt himself.
