perhaps they do see an advantage bro....maybe freddie thinks that askin miguel to come down to 45 would help restrict the rehydration that he normally undergoes after weighing in

perhaps its a psychological ploy as well...to throw off the normal routine and get him off rhythm...put a new restriction on how he normally scales down on the way to fight week...make him work harder in camp possibly?

I 100% believe they do see it as an advantage for either of the reasons you named.

That said, I think Pac wins this fight. But let me flip the script for a minute.

What happens if Cotto makes the 145 contracted weight, yet comes in the ring at 165 and ko's Manny in 3? He hasn't done anything against the rules, but will his victory be looked down upon and as tainted?

Cotto is getting his biggest payday. Put up or shut up. Manny has mega fights on the horrzon. If cotto wants a chance of a huge pay day he will do what hes suppose to do to get it. Pac runs this show... if Cotto dont want it, go fight someone else. stop the crying goddamn.

Sorry, I couldn't understand you with your throat crammed full of Manny. Say again?

oh not at all...the 45 stipulation is just a measured gamble for Team PAC...there's no guaranteeing that any of the results i mentioned would occur..in fact, if cotto does play out the scenario you portrayed, it enhances the victory IMO...he met the demands, had total control of his body and overcame that added obstacle

I laugh at those saying Cotto is scared or not confident.

The dude is getting paid less, and coming in at catchweight and wants a welterweight title? lol.. Don't make me laugh.. I didn't think of this until now. You want the Welterweight belt? Then fight at 147, or more money.

Agree, it is that simple. Allow Cotto come in at 147.

haha wow, what a waste, so Pacquiao gets his catchweight, but no chance at history if the title isn't on the line.

so I have to ask, for Team Pacquiao is this catchweight really worth it, to try and drain Cotto a bit, yet no title on the line?

granted the fight is still going down.

yeah Cotto will weigh more on fight night regardless, right?

so why try to squeeze him down to 145?

and if no title on the line .. all the better .. Team Pacquiao can't have their cake and eat it too.
