Tomasz Adamek Likely Headed to Heavyweight Division

And where is this gonna leave Hopkins? I don't know if anybody has brought his situation up in this thread, but if he can't get Adamek early next year his only two other options are the Dawson-Johnson winner or maybe Paul Williams if he would be willing to move up in weight. He would be looking at retirement if he didn't land a fight with one of those guys.

If he moves up to heavyweight he won't fight Chambers, Arreola, or Povetkin right away because they are 1 or 2 fights away from a title shot, even Adamek admitted he will be fighting a fringe contender first.

He should probably fight someone like Tony Thompson, James Toney, or Fres Oquendo.

I figured this would come sooner or later, not really sure how much of a factor he will be though. Doesn't seem to have the best skills or size to bully people around.

its sad that tomasz adamek will never get the full respect he deserves from the americans because he is from europe. i mean he has won a belt in light heavyweight and then become the number one in cruiserweight and now moving up to heavyweight. if he beats a few heavyweights he is defenitley a great fighter and hall of famer.

I've never read a post by any poster(American or otherwise) say anything bad about Adamek. Adamek gets a lot of respect from everyone.

Damn, I was hopin for the Cunningham rematch 1st. And I don't see Adamek beatin either of the K bros.

he prob wont but he will make them fight,
i think he'll be great as a HW, he could prob take the punches,
i mean he's never been hurt, he's got a real granite chin,
he always comes in shape, and hits pretty hard,

very underrated fighter.

Adamek at HW

Hey Everyone,

Like most I am waiting for the USS rematch and it has not been said that it will not happen. What Adamek said is that there are plans to move into HW but that will depend on current negotiations (Hopkins). The GUNN fight was also a right move as since december 2008 Adamek had three fights of which two ware excellent and like he said himself. I can not be on full throttle every thre months. Regarding Adamek at HW: I think he will do just fine, but one thing is sure, he will meke hell for some of those guys, just like he did for CW. Another thing Adamek said was that Boxing is his job, this is how he feeds kids, so he has to start making some money as he will not fight forever. There is alot of issues with HBO and Showtime putting out some $ for the CW and that is teh issue. Check the last fight USS had, not alot of people attended it and who televised it? I dont even remember. Cheers to ALL.

He's going to have a hard time with some of the boxers in the heavyweight division like the Klitschko brothers and Chambers.

im not saying he is a hall of famer or an all time great yet but if he goes up to heavyweight and beats guys like idk toney, thompson, ruiz, peter, brewster etc etc and then gets a shot at the heavyweight title. and i would say that then he is an hall of famer even if he dont win the heavyweight championship. and if he does and i belive he defenitley has the chance to then i would say yes he is an all time great.
