he should do anything but box, If I was forced to choose between the gass chamber and having to watch a John Ruiz fight marathon--- I'd almost have to go with the gass chamber. I mean any career change the man takes would get all thumbs up from me. -

The only reason he's difficult to beat is cause he holds so much. Against Jones the ref. didnt allow that and he lost.Originally posted by bobbyjonesIm not syaing that he is a "good" champion but he stilld eserves more respect than he gets because lets face it, the guy still sc****s out wins. Perfect example was the Oquendo fight where i think i ahd him down in teh fight before the knockout which let him win yet again. Hes not fun to watch and hes not a great boxer but he wins and he needs credit for that.
More to the point, the guys that beat him deserve credit for their wins, like Roy Jones, because they are still ebating a very difficult fighter to beat.
I may be alone on this, but to me just winning isnt the whole picture..its also HOW you win. Just 'scraping' out a victory thru hugging/holding and frustrating your opponet by not fighting like a man is not good enough for me. I prefer to watch an actual boxer and/or a boxer-puncher..not a hugger.
With so many people disliking his "style", that alone makes a statement..so many people cant be wrong!Comment

RJJ could have fought Byrd, a preSanders Wlad, Lewis, or Ruiz. He chose Ruiz. Enough said.Originally posted by bobbyjonesits time that we admitted that John Ruiz as much as we hate it is one of the best heavyweights out here right now. I recently read something on the is roy jones overrated thread that said Ruiz is a bum but it just isnt true. Ruiz has beat most of the contenders out there and he seems to always be able to find a way to winComment
